I want to start a home improvement company. What type of licensing do I need?

I want to start a home improvement company. Please give me necessary information about licensing.

1. It really depends where you are located what licensing you will need. You will at least likely need business licences, and maybe contractors licenses. Don't forget liability insurance. Some trades require their own licensing, such as electric, plumbing, HVAC (at least to deal with gas, combustion exhaust, and A/C refrigerant). Masonry might need a license.
