Would it be cheaper to buy a small house and add renovations or to just build it completely?
In the matter of what renovations, just think of doubling the small house(So like if it has 1 bedroom 1 bath, then the final house would have roughly 2 beds 2 baths. Just think of it like that)

- renovations are always cheaper than building from nothing, find a house that allows you to go two stories, check ccr to insure that you can do what you want, a house with a attached garage is always a good idea, you can build a car port for your car and turn that garage space into bed rooms and a bath
- In our area, the taxes would be much cheaper if you renovated than bought new the size you want.
- One way for sure to find out is to call a few different contractors and get quotes on a remodel and a new house. Most of the time it will be cheaper to remodel than build a new house but a lot depends on what all it will take to remodel. The kitchens and bathrooms are the most cost when building or remodeling.
- down size is can you get back what you put in it? all new stuff and a old house
