3. I am an ex-Manager from many Home Depots in California. Typically you will be hired at about $1.00 to $1.50 above minimum wage but you can definitely ask for more. Make sure you do. They will hire you for the lowest amount possible if you don't say anything. If you give reasons for the higher desired wage, (experience, or desire to be promoted within Home Depot), AND you do well on your interviews you will most likely get the higher wage or something near it.
