My Home Depot

Can anyone offer any suggestions for how I can get an interview at Lowes or Home Depot?

I have 3 years experience as a project manager for a custom home builder. My strengths are kitchen/bath design and millwork. I love my job, but the economy is so bad in Michigan that I believe Lowes or Home Depot would be much better form me if I could just get a foot in the door! I've appied at both online, but I have a feeling that those avenues are a bit of a long shot. Thanks for any help!

  1. How long ago did you apply online? I would call and ask to speak to the manager, and ask if he/she has received your application online? I worked at Lowes, and actually originally applied online, and it was a couple weeks before they called me.
  2. GO TO THERE WEB SITE AND APPLY ONLINE A COUPLE TIMES
  3. I live in Michigan as well and the economy is bad here. I applied with Lowes before and I got the interview which was long and exhausting. But anyway, you have to call the specific store you applied at and talk to a manager, give them your name and number and they will call you back. If they don't, call them back at every 4 days.
  4. Pick up an application at your local store. Fill it out, and put on some nice clothes. NO JEANS... and take the application to the store at around 930 am. Ask to speak with the store manager. Introduce yourself and hand him the application. tell him how eager you are to obtain a position with his company.
  5. You can apply online or in the store at a computer they have set up. When I applied I did it online and they called me about a month later. If you are concerned that you're not hearing anything from them call and ask to speak to the Human Resource manager.
