Do reality tv shows like Do It Yourself Network for home renovations pay the people to be on tv?

I want to renovate parts of my home but my budget is low. I was wondering this question to see if I could count on a little more income to add to the budget. Thanks

1. In would probably depend on the show but to my knowledge they do not compensate the homeowner. Typically they will provide most materials and also labor basically making you job free.
