1. Try building in the city first, select the most expensive lot and select a one floor footprint. Don't forget to have doors and hallways and bathroom for your home. Don't get greedy when you price your home and do the math to check if your buyers can pay the mortgage. If you do that you should get a rating of 75% and get to next level. But, always check the planning section of the game that will give you an idea of how much you should spend on each item.
