What renovations would you make to your house if money were no object?

- If money were no object, I would buy a new house spec'd out exactly to my liking. No use in putting makeup on an old pig :) Some requirements over our current house, 3 car garage with a tandem in the last stall, an extra bedroom for a total of 4. An office. A full basement. A nice big backyard. What would you do? -Ed
- I live in a very old house, built in 1904, which leaks from somewhere on the dozen or so different slopes of roof that we have, and is finally coming in on a couple of walls, as well as the ceilings. The first thing I'd do is have a completely new roof put on, then the outside scraped and painted a couple good coats, then the kitchen could stand some new cabinets and a new floor. I'd also like to bump out the wall of our living room, (where there's a small front porch now), to take over the front porch and make it a larger living room. My wife is allergic to paint odor, so we would probaly want to wallpaper a couple of rooms in the rest of the house, but that's it.
- Yea I would sell this one an buy a nice scenic piece of property and build my dream home, granite counter-tops huge master suite with and en suite and a reading room, whirlpool tubs and heated flooring so my cat wouldn't get cold paws! all the bells and whistles! Big bathrooms and multi-head showers, everything it would be a decadent house!!!
- No matter how it would be said one way or another the answer will be add what ever you always dreamed about having in your house. If money were no object you sure as hell not waiting for Xhibit to knock on door to tell you he's there to "Pimp Yo' House". For a simple guy like me I would be happy if I could separate the toilet from the shower. For a source on that reference the movie "Are We Done Yet" when Ice Cube starts crying on the toilet in the master bedroom. Some people did things to their houses like turning them into castles in the middle of B.F.E. or when Simon Rodia made the Watts towers which took him 30 years to make on average pay. Plan and simple do what makes you happy or keep on it till your happy. Or keep reading other peoples posts telling you what they want in your house. Just kidding people , don't get all bent outta shape now.
- I would add an attic office (with AC, of course) and a large 4 season solarium for me to create my artwork in. What would you do???
