My Home Depot

My work is closing for renovations for a week. Does my employer still have to pay me for my avg hrs per week?

I've been there for over 5yrs. There has been no official notice of an exact date when we are closed they've been saying different dates for the last year and a half and right now they're saying july 6 but that is just rumoured from another supervisor I work with. I am a supervisor and average 35-40hrs per week.

  1. No, your employer does not have to pay you for hours you do not work even if the time off is due to his actions.
  2. no
  3. Probably not, unless there is something in the employee manual or your contract that states you will be paid in the case of missed time due to the company's actions.
  4. of course not lololol
  5. Generally speaking if you are paid hourly, then your employer does not have to pay you. However, if you are salaried then yes they will, generally, have to pay you.
