My family is being threatened to loose our house and our business due to a auto accident! what should we do? My younger sister was in a car accident about 5 years ago. It was night, heavy rain and and she was attempting to make a left hand turn. She hit a car head on. It was her fault. I know that all parties in the crash make seem to be okay right after the crash and they all got out and walked away from the accident. The next day, the one 20 something male passenger, went to the hospital and went ahead with suing our insurance. My sister who weighs all of 130lbs left the accident with not a bruise on her, she never sustained any injuries and it was head on. Shouldn't the injuries be similar? Well five years later we get a call today from a lawyer telling us that the $100,000 he was to receive from the insurance is not enough and he will be going after all our assets. He did go ahead and get back surgery, though we did here he had previous back problems before all of this. I cannot help but feel like this blue collar GM worker, a young man in his twenties has sustained such injuries that he needs over $100,000 and go after our home and business.I feel once he found out that my family is well off, he has been trying to get "everything" out of us. What should we do? My father is a chiropractor who has built this family business from nothing and now we feel like we are about to loose it all.
my husband refused to be part of a family what should i do? We went to his parents church, he hates them, so after 3 years of asking him to pick a new one, I went to my local catholic church which my daughter loves, and now he says he will never step foot in a catholic church. He refuses to join my family for holidays, I go with my daughter. He works 100 hours a week. He criticizes everything I do. I have nothing. No friends, no job, no life. I have given up everything. He never helps out because he is the only one who works. We NEVER go out, we never talk, he never comes home for dinner. He simply doesn't exist in my life except his dirty laundry and when he comes home his criticism. I thought we were on the same time building a "family" business that is in his name. But really I just sacrificed for nothing and I just don't know what to do.
Could we promote green businesses by building apartments for employees on top of business buildings? Could we promote employers to provide apartment homes built on top of business for employees? I mean, what if every employer, or every business building had a apartment complex built on top of the business. And, if the employers got a huge tax break for each family living in the apartments built above their business. That would cut down on gas right? Affordable housing for the poor or middle-class, high tax breaks for employers, and cleaner air and less gas consumption for all. Is there anything we can do to promote this? This would reduce congestion on the highways, reduce the need for oil, and has many other benefits. James Star, I live only about 20 miles north of Seattle, and the prices for even a 2-bedroom apartment is staggering. It's hard to touch anything for less than $1000 per month.

I'm just suggesting ways to reduce consumption of gas.
I find it hard to care about my family. i don' think i love my family? My family is very supportive of me, very caring and well off financially. In my childhood my dad hit my dog (a couple times) in front of me, hit me a couple times when I mis behaved, and my parents fought occasionally, but nothing serious. My mom walked out once for like a day and my dad disappeared for a few days once but that's it. My dad also used to travel a lot, sometimes months at a time (for business). When I was 8, the closest person in my family was my Dad's, Dad. But he shot himself when I was eight right as I was on my way to visit him. I have an older sister, younger sister, and younger brother. I don't talk to any of them. I avoid my family as much as I can, I live at home but stay out till late; a couple times i came home at 5am on a school night. It's like I try to not make any connections with them. I for some reason want nothing to do with them. And sometimes I fear why I don't love my family. Even once before, I imagined my life as if my dad were dead, and I felt sort of relieved, but also sad when I thought about him being dead. I'd be devastated if my family members were harmed or dead though, and if they were directly attacked by someone I'd defend them. But I just for some reason can't look at them, can't talk them, and feel uncomfortable by their presence. Since about a year ago, my dad started getting home at a decent hour from work (as opposed to like 3 am). So as soon as he came home, I'd leave to go to the coffee shop. I thought that maybe because my Dad's, Dad died, I was afraid to build family connections because that scarred me, but I don't think that's the case because it wasn't until I was about 16 that I started disconnecting from them. I don't know if I'm making any sense, or if this is normal. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and have been on medications for about 2.5 years now. I stopped smoking weed as of 4 months ago, and I rarely drink alcohol--i just got out of rehab for attempt of suicide and substance abuse. (my dad's an alcoholic too). I just don't feel love for my family, but I feel angry at myself for mistreating them and ignoring them. While I'm ignoring them I don't care, but after the fact then I feel bad. I care about a couple of my friends a lot, and recently lost a close friend for the third time. I care more about my friends than i do my family. I wish sometimes my friends were my siblings. I "can't" love them, does anyone else feel this way?
My Husbands family always questions our living/ financial situation is this right? My Husband and i got married a few years ago, we lived in a big city living paycheck to paycheck, we loved the big city life but was hard to keep up with all the events & things going on and things things things! SO we got married and my father offered us to come live in one of his apartment complexes for free, as a marriage gift, so we can have a good start to our marriage, because that is the #1 reasons for divorce is financial stresses and we do not want any kind of stresses on our marriage, especially with our new little boy! we just had 5 months ago! what a blessing. So we have been here now in a small town in a apartment for 2 years now and Im now a stay at home mommy (what a blessing) ( got all my debt paid off thats why) & my husband works hard with my family's business. My husband has worked for The Family Business for 2 years now. Just as long as we were in the city together. He gets Vacations when he wants to, he has his own work truck, i have my own mommy truck, we do not have any debt now, he comes in and out our apt all day checking up on me and our new baby and having lunch with us and doing The Apt complex office work all day long. He gets paid good every friday morning. We run the business out of the apt so we dont pay for cable or internet or water. We have a saving account built up to about 5g now because we are going to buy some land and build a duplex. We dont have much stress and its an absolute blessing. We are happy and u can tell i guess. BUT When it comes to us willingly and wanting to hang out and enjoy my husbands family we are always bombarded with questions (from his brothers & im sure the mother says things too) about my father and our Family business & how u should get a real job and stop being under that "family umbrella" and go do your own thing. & we always just tell them just what i told you up there. But they still seem to not like what we are doing and they are not getting over it! this has been going on for 2 years the question asking the interviewing the interrigation. It really hurts me because my father has worked hard for what he has till this day and hes getting older now & doesnt work much anymore and he needs someone to take over and not just leave the business hanging and just sell it one day to just anyone that will make the investment go under! Why dont people understand this kinda thinking now-a-days? My brother didn't accept my dads offer because my youngest brother ventured out to do his own thing & moved at a young age not understanding the importance of loyalty & faith in family. WE do understand this and have faith & we are loyal people. This is so disheartening to me that they dont support our decisions because i know if my husband went out and found a job working right under a multi millionaire and got a free place to live & 2 free cars & now debt free his family would be happy for him and bragging about it! Because he did once before a few years ago working under a small business owner. but since its my father and my familys business its not the right choice. Im starting a new year with out all this Brother, Mother drama. I love the family but they can have all that talk about what they think is best for my husband, because the decisions my husband makes effects me and my baby, who are they to decide how my life runfs. I just wish they could be happy for us and not trying to sway my husband that he needs a corporate job with "benefits" all though we do have plenty of benefits & we are happy and content and not stressed, BUT they dont wanna believe that & somehow make us feel guilty and question our decisions, they just wont stop!... the only thing we stress about is his family putting in their 2 cents into what they think is best for our new family, when they dont care to have a normal convo with us & joke and laugh lighthearted conversation... they have NO idea, we do not ask them EVER about their jobs or their financial situation & i don't wanna to even tell them that my Family has multi millions in cash and also in investment... because they just wouldn't believe me, they only believe what they want to and i just need to cut the ties if this is going to be an ongoing 3 year conversation. WE tell this over and over when they ask and they still seem to not get it! im completely exhausted with this family & its sad because i love them. The only sane person in the family is their father but he wont speak up for us. Someone please tell me what is going on here?
What can I do to get my dysfunctional family some help? Let's start with the basics. My dad is a lazy alcoholic. He drinks about 8-10+ cans of beer every day. He comes home and plants himself in front of the computer, and does nothing but drink, or go to the bar with his friends. He smokes a lot of cigarettes. He only cares about himself, and never helps out around the house. He complains that he doesn't have to because he works hard everyday. He flirts with other women, openly, in front of my brother and I, and my mom. He also complains openly about my mom and his sex life, and how she's always gone with her "single" friends. He has cheated on my mom, in the past. My mom is a chain smoker, who drinks way too much soda pop. She goes through a case every day. She has terrible asthma but continues to smoke relentlessly. I'm scared she will get lung cancer, and die. She has a mild case of hoarding, and has an inability to throw things away. We have rooms full of useless junk. (Of course, me being the only one to go through and throw any of it away). As a results, our house is very messy and cluttered. She also has a problem spending too much money. She goes out for lunch/dinner often, or buys useless junk to add to the pile of crap already cluttering our home. She has maxed out credit cards, and many debts. As does my father. My brother is a 20 year old drop-out with no direction in life. When my brother and I were young, my dad was never around. He did not come back to live with us until we were in our mid-teen years. As a results, my mother babied him and he has now become incredibly anti-social and dependent. He's afraid to do anything on his own. He has never had a real job, other than working in my aunt's family business, which he no longer does. He doesn't want to get a job because he feels nothing is worth doing or exciting enough to do. Plus his dependency causes him to withdraw from taking the initiative with anything. He spends majority of his time playing video games or MMO's. He spends more time with internet friends than he does with real people. He has been tested by a doctor, and has the IQ of a genius, which sadly, only makes him feel that life is mundane and not worth living. He does not want to be the 38 year old man living at home with his parents, with no life, but he doesn't know what to do. I have a whole set of problems for myself as well, but I am trying my best to come to terms with these flaws and become a better person. I have OCD, and am severely depressed with BDD. I have self-esteem near nothing, because of events that have taken place in my life. I am going off to college this fall in an attempt to create a better future for myself. I have the biggest fear in the world that my brother will commit suicide when he realizes he has accomplished nothing in his life. He is the most important person in the world to me. I don't want to have to live without him. Please don't just tell me to up and abandon my family; I can't do that. I have tried setting up chore lists for them to follow, I have tried taking my mom shopping to show her how to shop smart and tried to get her to budget the money more intelligently. I have tried helping pay off several of their debts, only for them to build up worse. I've done everything to try to make them quit smoking and drinking. I just don't know what is left for me to do!! Please help. :(
Please Help me!! Its a family problem with the law!? Okay so my family cleans businesses for a living AKA a franchise and recently we started cleaning this place with a bunch of lawyers. So when we started ( like a month or two ago) we had to take a tour of the building to know what we were going to clean. So this lady takes us to a room and COINCIDENTALLY shows us a room full of statues and says that they are worth thousands because of the price and that they are super important and what not. So then she tells us that we will NEVER clean that room and that, that room had a separate key that ONLY she has. ( why the hell would she have shown us then...? why would I care about a stupid statue...? ) so in other words you have nothing to clean here stay out. ( We have even cleaned places with designs of rockets and with far more expensive equipment and we have NEVER taken any of it and we don't even have a key to that room what so ever.) And well we kept cleaning every other day like normal and blah blah blah. So yesterday we got a call from headquarters saying that they lady terminated our contract (which is for a year) because we stole a bunch of things. So she now called the cops and said that they are going to come over today and that they are going to look through our home. ( they have not come and I do believe that they need a search warrant) But in any case Prior to that incident when we were cleaning we saw a note on the main door and saw that it was the owner of the Business talking to some guy or ex-employee and it said that he had his own set of keys and that he had no right to be their with-out the Lady's presence and that next time he came in like that they would call the cops and that they changed the locks and he had his own separate keys to his office and not the main door. So like a day before she called my dad and said that she had to change all the locks and that he had a new set of keys to come in so we could clean. ( all together she has changed the locks like 3 times aka the first day the had changed the locks then he changed the locks to the front door then the last time with the guy incident). So now what should I do..?!?!? can I sue her for charging us with something fake..? my family thinks she committed a fraud so she could get her insurance money for her useless statues. When they find out that we have NOTHING because we don't we are prepared to show them EVERYTHING even our bank accounts so they see that we haven't even received any money or spent any what so ever to the value that she said that all the things we stole from her are. What should I do when she find nothing? Can I sue her in any way...? or what ?? @goz1111 they actually are STATUES! not books. The reason I say statues is because she has a collection of like old and ugly disney statues in an unoccupied office. Like they had nothing to do with the lawyers what so ever! like they are literally DISNEY statues....
Does anyone here have an issue with people within your family butting in your business? I do...suggestions? I am not just speaking of family, but I am also having an issue of people slandering me (from my former job), my finance's psycho ex-boyfriend threatening me and worrying more about when I am home (or when I'm not) like he's my dad. My fiance and I are both sick of it but we have to handle it very delicately due to their 3 kids they had together. The kids are happier with me because I respect them and I love them. This causes too much stress for all of us and I am at my wits end. I refuse to let anything or ANYONE bust up our relationship we have worked so hard to build the past year and a half.
What is the average cost of building a garage? My husband and I bought our home from my mother-in-law about 2 years ago. The house is a small two story built in the late 1800s with 1 bath (on the main floor) & 3 bedrooms (two of which are very small). We purchased it for about 1/3 of it's actual worth. We have a lot of renovations in mind but what I'd really like to do is add a basic attached two car garage with a master suite upstairs including a master bath. We have both family and friends that are in the roofing and siding business as well as carpentry so there will be a fair amount of "sweat equity"involved. I would love any advice as far as estimates go. We plan on staying here since this house was built by the family so I'd really like to make it exactly what we need & want. Eventually I would also like to add a little terrace to that upstairs master suite as well. Thanks for reading! There are no restrictions as to what can be done (except our budget of course).
How to use the robot in Sims 2 but not have it as part of the family? I built the robot in Sims 2 Open for Business expansion pack. I turned it on and named it. However, I do not want to robot to be part of the family. Is there a cheat, code, or something that allows you to have the robot in your home, it acts as it is does before, except it is not a member of your family?
Need help summarizing this article up? Work, Family… Together? Picture this: You're sitting with your spouse, and the two of you are talking about starting a company that manufactures and sells organic children's clothing. Your husband will handle the business side -- he has an MBA -- while you, whose hand-sewn outfits are the envy of neighborhood moms, will focus on product design, production and promotion. But should you work together? There are certainly advantages to running a family business, including a built-in sense of loyalty and a shared investment and commitment. "There is a higher trust level involved when people know each other so well, and this essentially lowers the cost of capital for the business," says Andrew Keyt, executive director of the Loyola University Family Business Center. He says family businesses also tend to carry less debt. Family vs. Business Issues Of course, there are some real disadvantages. Family members who are also business partners often have difficulty separating their personal and professional agendas. They can find it hard to make business decisions independent of the relationship. "The intensity of family members working closely together creates strain," says Mr. Keyt. And there can be spillover from home that hurts the business. "Unaddressed family issues can distract partners from coping effectively with important business challenges." Jim Grosspietsch and his wife, Tracy, run an interior-design firm together and have experienced both the pros and the cons. "As a designer, Tracy guides the mission and vision for the firm, while I manage all of our business functions," says Mr. Grosspietsch. "We work from home on flexible schedules and share household roles." On the other hand, balancing the needs of business and family and cash flow are twin challenges, they say. And while finances are a major cause of stress for most married couples, "it's much worse when you manage a business with your spouse," he says. Long Odds for Success Despite the fact that family businesses encompass 85% of all American businesses and generate over 60% of the gross national product, a startling one-third of small businesses -- including family-owned firms -- fail in the first year. But there are ways to increase your chances of success. The first step is to be honest with yourself. Do you and your family member already have a strong relationship that includes healthy communication and mutual respect? Are your work ethics similar, and do you share goals, expectations and a passion for the business? The answer to both should be yes, or close to it. Then, before you launch, consult an attorney and set up a formal plan of operations similar to the sort you'd do with a non-family partner. "Be sure to have well-defined roles in the organization so you don't step on each other," says Mr. Grosspietsch. "Each partner needs a set of activities to oversee." You also need to think about the worst-case scenario. "Start by creating your exit plan," adds Mr. Keyt. "Ask the question: 'If things aren't going well, how can we recognize this and leave the business in a way that preserves our family relationships?' "
Is there a way to get compensation for lost business revenues from government construction? My family owns a small business close to our home. Few years ago, the city (or the state, I'm not sure) started doing construction around the area for building a new highway or something. This construction didn't effect our business until recently. About 4 months ago, our store starting losing about half of our business revenues, which is really hurting our family's finances (Many of our neighboring businesses are also hurting badly because of the construction). They basically destroyed and/or blocked off all the roads surrounding our store. It looks like the construction is going to be continued for at least 2 more years. However, I rarely see people working on the roads. Is there anything that we can do about this? Should we sue the city or something? Is there any government compensation that we can file a claim for? To make matters worse, our building owner just raised the rent (unbelievable!!). Please help!!
How much would it cost to build a 3 storied family home? I just need a rough estimation.? Both my wife and I are financially secure as I own a small business and she is a surgeon so money isn't a problem (though you must keep in mind that we are not super duper rich). For years we had been looking to buy our dream home but none had been able to captivate us. So we thought it was high time that we designed our own home. The thing is we don't know how much making a house would cost. We are looking towards building a 3 storied house with 4 bedrooms (each with their own bathroom), kitchen (dry+wet), a study, a family room, a living room, dinning room, outdoor pond, and a rooftop lap pool. Could anyone please give a rough estimation? Thank you in advance. Ted.
I want to help a native american family in Guatemala buy a piece of land to build their home.? I am a semi retired business man and I live in Guatemala, Central America. is it a bad time for my husband and i to invest in a business and building? we've always had a dream of having a cafe in our home town. now one is for sale. the whole building and business all together. we literally have nothing to lose. except a lot of money. we have no credit, no money, not even jobs if we move back. just family, a dream and a really good feeling do to circumstances (no other cafes in town, just a family restaurant people sit and drink coffee at all night) we might have a really great opportunity on our hands or due to the recession a major disaster. i can't stop thinking about it. can some one please give me some input.
What are some viable home business ideas? Due to family illness I am forced to create employment from home. I am looking for some form of assembly or building of products business ideas as I am skilled with tools and my hands.
Can a family be unlucky? I have been trying to build a business from home. With what I have done anyone else would be making money... I make nothing. My mom tells me, it's just the luck of this family. What's bad, is it seems true. Everytime my dad tries to retire, something comes up. Everytime my folks start to get ahead on fixing their house something comes up. Every job I have had has been with employers that call me stupid and lazy then have me be the fix it for their problems. Now I try to work from home, I an ad in the paper, everyone tells me that my business is great... but I get no buyers. Although I did get a phone call from my ex-boss calling to harrass me. I do believe in God, but lately I wonder if He is listening to me... I am sponsoring a child, but unless a miracle happens soon, I can't afford her anymore.
My family owns a big drive in hotel in town. 19 rooms and planning to expand next 2 years on a new place.? This is the plan of my family. In our place, we own a 19 room drive in hotel with bar/restaurant in a 1,200+ square meter lot. It was very very successful and is only 1 year old. We also own a big and successful funeral home business. Now, we plan to invest again in a new place. We plan to build around 30-50 room drive in hotel with bar/restaurant depending on the size of the lot maybe in the next 2 years. As of now, we only plan to build a poultry business. DO YOU THINK POULTRY BUSINESS IS GOOD BUSINESS? ALSO, DO YOU THINK THE DRIVE IN HOTEL WILL BE A GREAT BUSINESS TOO? THE Place that we will build the drive in hotel will have an international airport soon. Also, do you think the drive in hotel should have its own website? OR NOT? After that, when the new generation of the family take over, we will build more hotels as our priority would be tourism. WHAT OTHER BUSINESSES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? CAN WE USE STOCK MARKET AND ISSUE STOCKS OR WHAT? SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Thanks.

Would you (AMENDED for more info.) sell your office building if you were me? Would you sell your office building if you were me? THIS IS THE AMENDED FOR MORE INFO PART: "I own 45% of the building, the rest is mortgaged. I have to borrow quite a bit of money, which has been approved by my bank, to improve the building to keep up with competition for the $ per sq meter that I need/want. With the tenant that is leaving, I am a bit short to cover the mortgage PLUS all other expenses. I have reserve for at least one year, aside from the funds that have been approved for the upgrades. My next tenant is most likely leaving due to poor sales, in another three years. Original notes from my original question: I have a large commercial office building in the CBD of a city. I have 5 good 10 year tenants in there, but one of those tenants will be leaving soon. I don't know if I should sell the building and live off the interest and other investments (most likely low risk, as I am a widow who is working very hard to TRY to be the business person my late husband was) simplifying my life, and what is left with my young adult kids. I am 55. I find that sometimes I want the challenge to see if I can run this building without my husband (I know that with the right people working for me, I can), but at the same time, I say to myself, life is short, and if I sell and live off the interest, my worries are free....(if I am careful) and I can enjoy a bit. I have been working since I was 12 in my parents' family business (part time and all weekends) then full time work until I married, and then full time work in my home office, for my husband (and myself) along with raising 5 children. I am tired, however I am worried that I may get bored. I most likely will not though, because I am the type of person to keep very busy, continuously learn, I want to volunteer, I want to be able to read a book (it's been far too long), and I want to travel a bit, and just enjoy life....and even clean and organize my house in an enjoyable way without rushing to get other things (office work) done! I fear interest rates will rise, I fear one or two or three tenants will leave and maybe I will have a hard time re-filling those spaces, although it's in a very good location in the CBD, it is an old building that needs continuous work and maintenance and even ongoing improvements. I have to borrow money to make the money, etc. etc. etc. Should I bother, to HANG ON to this investment that will most likely continue to grow (for my future and my kids and their kids), whether it be at a slow or fast growing rate....is it worth it? Is life simply too short? I am not the kind of person that NEEDS to have millions. As long as I can pay my bills, continue the lifestyle that I have, and have a couple vacations per year and a reserve for the "just in cases" that may arise (with myself or my kids)....do I need the hassle of the ongoing work and worry of whether or not I will refill the building in time....every time a lease term is finished? What would you do if you were in my shoes? I already have a good management company helping me with most of the paperwork, but the worries are still with me, when a tenant leaves and how long it will take to refill that space...and as I said, the ongoing maitenance, etc.

Is it fair to ask a man to place your name on title of his home when he wants you as his wife in his home? We both are professionals, he's 10 years older with three children (youngest is 16) and a dependent ex-wife. We dream of building a family and business together at his recently purchased property (3 years ago) and he wants to keep it in his name only, but call it and make it OUR home. I feel there is no security in this, as I have waited a long time to marry and bear children and this feels like unsafe ground to nest. We both have other properties that we are keeping separate, but we both desire to create and build in the property and community he currently calls home. I would not feel like this was my home unless it was truly shared. Is it fair to want a man to open his house equally from the start? His fear is loosing his property in another divorce. Mine is getting started my first time around when my Love doesn't appear to value me enough to provide real security to build upon and share "our" home equally. Any advice?

Is it ok to use home address for business on the web? I live in a secure building in a large city and run my business out of my home. Friends and family have advised against using my home address on invoices and on my company website. Should I go to the expense of renting a P.O. box?
Have a couple of questions about building credit and lines of credit? We are looking at buying a mobile home in the near future (cannot get a mortgage as you don't own the land that the home sits on). We are both 19 and are trying to build enough credit to be able to do this. We've financed a laptop ($1000) for 3 months. We have a credit card and always make payments on time. We can't finance a car because the full coverage insurance would cost too much as we are young. Can we take out a small line of credit to pay for a car? Would we still need full coverage insurance if we did this? If we got a small line of credit for the car, could we increase it if we needed more money? (for the house) What are some other ways to build credit? Can someone co-sign for a line of credit? Also, I'm looking into student loans to go into nursing school...I will probably need someone to co-sign this because I have absolutely no credit myself (my boyfriend does). Will this affect our ability to get a line of credit for a home? I know this is a lot of questions, but we're young and trying to make our way in this world with a 6 month old baby. Our income is about $2700 a month, however we don't pay taxes as it is a family business...how will this affect it? Well my income is more like a babysitter's income. She is paying my boyfriend to help her out. So if we want to claim it as an income we will have to pay the taxes at the end of the year. Actually we are looking for a trailer because they are really nice here. The houses are way too expensive where we live ($300 000 gets you a 1 bedroom apartment)
Is this a good way to advertise a new business? My family already have a construction business, but in the next year we will be opening a new business that sell interior items such as doors, cabinets, countertops, etc. In addition to this my husband and I will be building a new home. I thought a good way to advertise both businesses is to create a blog that follows the new construction process from an empty lot to the finishing decor. What do you think, is this a good idea?
Family Emergency/Crisis ... Help? Usually I turn to Yahoo Answers if I have a personal problem with computers and finding merchandise. Now I'm coming with a personal problem that I truly don't know how to solve. Our family, well my step dad who I've known for 13 years and have grown to love has a pawn shop. We've been open for 12 years. The economy has gotten so bad that really there's no money coming through the door. We're not making any money, no profit. A year ago we started having a guy do eBay and he's good, it helps a lot. Now see my grandfather owns the actual building our pawn shop is in, as well as the car lot down the street (pay attention this is the vital part). The car lot has been pretty steady for the past couple of years and now we have to close it down because its not making money and there in debt down there. To pay off the debt the government would have to take the car lot and the pawn shop building. The pawn shop could make it if we could just buy the building. The only way we could make is we bought that building. $250,000.00 is a lot of money and we don't have that kind of money as a middle class family. If we don't buy that building we lose our house, our business, and all the merchandise our pawn shop has. Now that you know the story, my question is an obvious: What do I do? How can I help? I'm only 16? My dad comes home to his bed every night and breaks down. This 100% true... Serious answers please.
How should I convert my home into the Headquarters for my Business? I have started my business (successfully) and the Lease on My building is now running out. I have another home that I am currently living at. I would like to use my other home as the new Headquarters for my Business. This is what I've planned so far. But I am clueless on what to do with my Kitchen and Family Room. Every other room will be used as offices, the living room will be the lobby, and the dining room will be the conference room. What should I do with my Family room, and Kitchen?
I kinda locked up a family/lot on the Sims. How do I fix this? Ok. So I have Open for Business and there was this family with many great, and successful businesses. The daughter's friend came over from school and we all decided to go to her business. But I had the boolprop testing cheats enabled cheat on and had only the daughters friend selected. I tried to make him "go home" in the car. But he's a townie so an error occurred. I clicked "reset" and nothing happened. Like an idiot, I saved it because I had done so much on that lot. Now I can't play that family and when I go to the business, it's not on live mode. It's on build mode. I tried to make the dad have a wife but it won't let me because I saved the game when they were at the business. I can't go to that business or play it. I'm stuck and that family has many amazing businesses so I need to fix this please! My only options are to kill the daughter on the lot (Not the best! D:) Or delete the lot. That's the only thing I can do.
Embezzlement......Working with family...Losing house??? HELP.... Financial struggles....What should I do? Ok this is 10 years in a bundle. The last 4 years I began working with my dad. Years before that, my brother worked with him as an assistant, my dad was a building contractor from the 80's until 2001 (Right before the housing market shot up). My dad had a partner in construction, they were doing fine, he's built over 2,000 homes on his own within 3 counties, when a long time partner Embezzled money from him, leading my dad to go broke. On my own, I never anticipated working with my father because I knew nothing about construction, however years after he went broke and through all the hard times, he eventually began working with me through a small business I had created. With his "know how" abilities, my profits shot up through the roof. However, I had invested about 20K and my father invested about 500K into the business in which we were going to be partners in. Well his "know how" abilities actually helped save my business because as any business entrepreneur knows it takes a lot of money, along with a hundred other strengths to get it going. So he saved the business that I started/created which also gave him a (future) successful business career. So heres where it goes semi wrong. We're currently making huge sums of money, but we are actually being reimbursed for the money we put into the business. My deadbeat brother who works odd jobs has 6 kids between himself and his current wife, is losing his house. There is $16,000.00 owed to pay the back taxes. My dad called me tonight and feels that the burden is left on his shoulders to help his son out, and I figure his son (my full blooded brother) should have taken responsibility for himself, wife, dysfunctional family and earned that money himself. I told my dad that I have always put him (my father) ahead of me. I want to see my dad succeed before I do financially. Btw I have no kids, and have been in a steady relationship for 6 years, and I am 27 years old, my brother is 29, and my dad is 51. I have been saving for gastric bypass surgery because I put on a lot of weight getting this business going, which I do not regret because it is helping to transform my future in a positive way. I told my father that if he is going to shell out $16,000.00 that he should give me the same amount, which COINCIDENTALLY is the exact cost of my surgery. I feel that if he's going to shell out money for something stupid, i'll hold my hand out too. Am I being selfish? I was planning on waiting to get my surgery on our next big payday, which would get my dad his 500k back, and would put me ahead, health wise, but for now, this money my brother needs, we really cannot afford it. And I figure if we're going to turn things around and help him. I should be helped too. Meanwhile I feel bad because my dad doesnt even own a home, he rents, and feels poorly of, because he's worked so hard all of his life, and has always strived to take care of his family. *Sigh* if you have gotten this far......GOD BLESS YOU....and plz help if possible...

How do you guys feel about working for family? I will try to keep this short Basically, my dad owns a business, by himself, where he owns and manages 10 rental homes + a large building downtown.. he obviously needs help sometimes. He offers $20+ an hr, depending on what the job is, and for a college student, such as myself, you just can't get a better deal. Here's the thing, it's not such a great deal, working for your family sucks. Here's why... As you may or may not know, because it is so close to Christmas, finals are here.. and because finals are here, I have had more school work than I usually do, as all college students do. Earlier this week, my dad asked if I could go check one of his houses and do a couple of things. These aren't my words exactly, but it's something close, "I MIGHT be able to get to the house, I do not know as I will be working on a group project pretty much every day this week at school.. it really depends." When I say things like, probably, maybe, potentially, possibly, does that not mean there is an uncertainty there?. Yesterday, I got a call from my dad asking how the house went, I told him that I was not able to get there because of this school project, which is obviously more important to me than his work is. He said something like this, "You said you would be able to get there on Wednesday." I explained to him that I said MAYBE, which implies there is an uncertainty, as it does.. he then continued to talk to me in such a way like I wasn't at school doing my project and I was just trying to avoid going work for him (he has this idea that I'm lazy and don't want to do any kind of work.) So I asked, "Do you not think I was at school doing my project, do you think I was out messing around or something?" He replied with, "I don't know if you were at school like you said you were, maybe you were out messing around, maybe you weren't doing your school work, I really don't know." Which means, he doesn't trust that I was at school like I said I was. (On a side note, I know people are checking into this house tomorrow, and I knew I would have all of today to do these things.. so, it wasn't an emergency like he makes it sound like it was.. I had a plan, not like I wasn't going to get this house done.. like he thinks) Now, this is a huge problem, it is very offensive to me.. actually, it is EXTREMELY offensive to me. I got angry and basically told him to screw off. This isn't the only time stuff like this has happened, there are have been countless times where he treats me like absolute garbage because I'm his son.. if it was anyone else, he wouldn't question if they were actually at school doing what they said they were doing. My mom doesn't help this problem, either, she basically says, "$20+ an hr, you have to be mad not to work for him." Thing is, she doesn't understand that he is a moron. I've tried talking to him before, but he doesn't change his behavior. How do you feel about working for family and should I just apply to work somewhere else? I'm seriously considering applying at target for like $8.50 an hr or however much they pay.. I forgot to mention that he tries to guilt me into working for him by saying things like, "You are family, it is your responsibility to help me with my job so that I can pay the bills.. you live here, too." Which is completely wrong...
Mr.Obama: Eco. EASY FIX: deposit $1 million in each 40 million jobless/family's acct. instead of bankers.? Mr.President Obama: You have within your reach, the USA economy EASY FIX. All you need to do is deposit $1 million dollars $, direct deposit in the personal bank accounts of each of the 40 million people/families now depending of welfare or housing, all who lost their homes and are jobless, do not give anymore money to the banks. Help the regular people buy a house, or for them selves set up a shop, start a business, have time at home to set up a safe home for the kids, mothers to be present to raise their children instead of living them on daycare. A million dollar goes real far on building the American dream, we all want to dream and build our own lives or style. A direct deposit of a million dollar to 40 million people will do more than 500 millions else where. It all (the money) goes back to you Mr. President, I could buy again my dream house for my little boy and elder mother, room for older family members when faced with need of shelter, I would get another dog or two, I lost mine a few months ago due to my hardship, I would pay back my student loan and help my older son with his student loans debt, I would pay all my old debts, will pay a second mortgage debt from Chase that they keep collecting after they foreclosed on my house and sold only half of mtg. to the new owner and did not erase or zero out the 2nd. mtg. balance, keeping it in my credit report so I can never live my American dream again. I am sure all those millions of people in needs out there will put the money you give back in circulation faster than you ever imagine and the economy will pick up again in a blink. What do you think? I may be off on the amount of people in need, but you can find out the exact numbers. The military who served and did so much for all of us?... also, direct deposit 1 million in their bank account upon arrival, you will see the economy up in no time. May God Bless you and help you be a blessing to us all.
What would you do/buy if you won over a million dollars in lotto? 1. Give 10% of the money to Jesus. 2. Fix up my home church. (home church is the church that I started out at when I was a little girl) 3. I would first of all NOT quit my job. I would take vacation time to buy me a building for my business. I would open a nail/hair/ salon/clothing/shoe store for women and men. Then after that is up and running I would quit my job and dedicate my time to my business. 4. Finish college in the process of starting my own business. 5. Build my family a 5 bedroom , 3 1/2 bath home, with a gameroom, theater/media room, a pool/jacuzzi. 6. Buy 3 brand new vehicles (a SLAB for hubby, a Harley Davidson truck for both of us, and a Range Rover for me) ( if you don't know what a slab is google slab car) 7. Pay off my parents' mortgage and buy them a new house. (they can rent the other out or sell it) 8. Help my family members pay off debt. 9. Donate money to help children all over the world. 10. Invest the money and put up for my children's education, and their lives. 11. Travel all around the world. 12. Try to be and live happy while serving and Thanking the Lord. Don't be rube or mean please....You should have better things to do then be rude.
Need help dealing with coworkers? I work for my family's business. I don't know if this is something I want to do for the rest of my life, but I recently had a baby and it works best for both my husband's and my schedule, I have job security in our current economic state, and flexible hours. However, some of the people I work with seem to have a problem with this. They seem to be angry that I get the hours I request and a bigger salary than some of them. I understand their frustration, but they need to understand that it IS a FAMILY BUSINESS. My ancestors built it from the ground up. If it wasn't for my family, neither they or I may even have jobs right now. When one of my relatives comes in and corrects them, they seem to take it out on me. It's not everyone; 3 girls imparticular. There was one incident where this one girl who is particularly spiteful toward me, kept going on and on about something I put back in the wrong place...in front of everyone. Now, the other day, she was talking rather loudly about the way I handled a REALLY rude customer; claiming I didn't "speak to him correctly" in front of other co-workers. I don't want to go run and tell my family because I don't want to make the situation any worse, but it is becoming truly frustrating. My younger sister also worked there part-time over the summer when she was home from college and they treated her in a similar way. I know it sounds petty, but 2 of them de-friended her on facebook. Probably so they could talk about her on there. They just won't drop the situation. I have never been rude to these girls, yet they keep trying to push my buttons. How can I handle them? They know I may be their boss someday, do they choose not to quit and they still continue with this behavior. They talk about me while I am RIGHT THERE. My husband works for one of the biggest and most successful companies in the world and he says that behavior would never be tolerated there, but it's not like I have proof of them doing it. It's just my word against theirs =(
Is Osama bin Laden more interested in Broadway or in the New York Stock Exchange? First of all, I would like to comment on how much I like his costumes and his props. I think he is now ready to make the transition from the trashy self-indulgent home video to the live stage, don't you? A while back Osama bin Laden threatened to blow up the New York Stock Exchange building, boasting he would make the stock market crash and collapse the American economy. The good news for him is that the stock exchange is preprogrammed for self-destruction. Every time someone makes an exchange losses are incurred on both sides, and people get less and less from it through the law of diminishing returns. Inevitably it eventually will crash or just fizzle out. The trouble is that it keeps rising again like a phoenix. Bin Laden, in one of his first videos said that his family was in the building business. Whether or not he has ever hammered a nail while nurturing his haughty airs and graces, he would know that: when someone blows up a building, assuming very hypothetically and unrealistically that no innocent bystanders would get killed, he is only destroying a token bit of (Free) masonry, with its characteristic architecture. The real problem with the New York Stock Exchange and others just like it are ideological and abstract, and destroying a building is not getting at the fundamental problem While is is not really nice to make jokes about someone who is attributed to having killed so many people, trusting neither the media nor politicians enough, I sometimes cannot help but wonder whether Osama bin Laden is really just a metaphor for a Muslim on the System.
A sweet, generous man builds a home and an artists studio adjacent to the family home for his wife’s parents.? they live there free of charge. The wife runs off with another man, her parents still live with the abandoned husband. The sweet man works extra hard to pay the mortgage on the two properties and only manages to scrape by. The ex inlaws are able to afford a couple of foreign holidays and a new car every year and are still not satisfied. Recently the sweet man found out that the ex inlaws are planning to rent out the studio and run a business from the premises inviting the public onto his property. The sweet man was not in formed of this, he found out by chance. He is a sweet and generous man and although his wife has the room to accommodate her parents her new boyfriend does not want this. I think the sweet man should lay down some ground rules and I have tried to help by writing the ground rules down. I want to know if what I have written sounds fare, please comment. The original plan that I agreed to was for us to live and work together as one big happy family here. I was happy for workshops to be run and I was happy to build the studio for that specific purpose. Understand though that this was something I agreed to when your daughter and I were living together as man and wife. The fact of the matter is that I no longer see your daughtere as my wife and all previous agreements regarding how you use the property have changed. I do not want you to use the building as a means to prophet financially. This includes using the address to sell your crafts, hiring out an area of the property, running workshops, in simple terms you are to only use the property as a dwelling. My girlfriend is an artist and I hope it goes without saying that she will be welcome to use the studio on the understanding that it is a shared space. He thinks what I have written is harsh, I want to know what others think. Oh, he can not charge the ex inlaws rent because this means they will have rights.
custom computer business? I am 19 and i want to start a small in home custom computer building business. i've built all of my own pc's and don't find it all that hard to do and i'm pretty good at it and my family says i should start my own business building custom pc built to spec. I checked and i could build the same computer that dell charges 1400 dollars for for around 600 bucks with high quality parts from newegg. I know a great deal about fixing anything wrong with computers as far as hardware or software either way if theres something wrong 99% of the time i can fix it. should i do it? Im pretty sure i could profit from it like i said i can build the same computer dell or hp charger 1400 dollars for around 600 dollars and I could sell them for 800-900 dollars and still make a profit and it would be a better deal that anything you get from a big computer place, because i could also fix it if anything ever goes wrong. I would start small of course but to me it sounds like a good idea any suggestions? basically im asking if i told you what i could do and showed you my computers that i've built would you let me build you one? best thing about it is i can build a budget comptuer that would still be blazing fast enough for even most 3d apps. and it would only cost me 400 dollars i could sell that for a good price and everyone would want one bc they would be fast and not have that useless stuff that comes with comptuers from hp and dell ect. would you get one from me?
How to deduct home office in a house in which mortgage is paid off? Situation: 1) Small business owner has his only office in his home. 2) He paid the mortgage off. House is totally debt free. 3) He uses one room as his only office that he otherwise would use as another family room if he would for example rent space for his business in a business building not belonging to him. 4) Can he bill his business with rent for that room in his own home? 5) Can he deduct rent for that office room? 6) If he ever would sell this house one day, would it still be a private house sale?
Is it legal to reside in an office building you own? The housing prices in my area are unreal. There is a small office building on the edge of town located in a commercial zone for sale. I can afford it. It has more than enough space for my family, two bathrooms, a garage, a private parking lot and a kitchen. It is zoned "general manufacturing" and currently used as an office building. There are no apartment buildings in the area. We do have a home business. Is it legal to live there?
How would you go about building this home business? I want to start my own home-based crafts business making hand-made scented candles. I've asked similar questions before but have never really gotten an answer that I was happy with. So I decided to ask a very specific question this time. Most people tell me to use ebay or craigslist or something like that but I fear that my candles would seem vastly overpriced since I'd be using extremely high quality materials and containers. The prices people post items for on ebay makes me think of it as a place for getting rid of something or selling something making only pennies profit. My predicament: -I'm only 20 (no credit history) -I only have about $250 to start my business. -I have a stress disorder that makes it a little difficult for me to keep a job at which I have to answer to other people, so I'd be a little nervous about getting standard job. I'm extremely intelligent, though, and have supportive family and friends. My question again: If you were me, how would you go about it?
Is it hard for a WOMAN to maintain a good relationship and run a business? I believe in order to build a successful business it takes hard work and determination and sometimes that includes long hours and even when your home your still working. When your in a new relationship (8 months), and your starting a business and your seeing good results in your business. At 22 years old, Is it best that you focus on your career more or the relationship? Is it selfish for your partner to say he feels neglected because your putting more effort into your CAREER than the relationship? Do you think you should treat your career as a 9-5 or should you put your ALL and sacrifice some things that you love and put in the long hours and days to focus on your future? And my most important question: Will the relationship ever work out if one person is "Business minded" and the other is "Family- minded"? I personally think, those are to two different goals in life and it's one or the other, I dont think you can have both at the same time, but please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

Building a home and business out of cob: potential problems? I would love to buy a piece of land in Arizona and build a house there out of cob. In addition I would like to build a medical office/outpatient clinic out of cob on the same land, and finally I would like to build a small Gurdwara on this land out of cob as well. (A gurdwara is a Sikh temple, basically no different than asking about building a church as far as this question is concerned). I also plan to have a large garden on the property which will provide fresh fruits and vegetables for my family (which would live in the house), as well as for langar after religious services in the gurdwara (langar is a meal served after religious services in gurdwaras; everyone is always welcome). Of course the garden will probably not provide enough food to completely feed everyone, but it will create a sense of community by inviting everyone to participate in tending the garden. What problems might I face with this plan? Is there any law which dictates what building materials are permissible for building clinics? What kind of zoning problems might I face if I were to build a house, clinic, and Gurdwara on the same property?
Question about God's vision for men and womens' roles in life and love? Ok, so I have been randomly reading this book that presecribes that a woman will in God's eyes ultimately be the commander of a well organized and functioning home, married to her leader, who will be the provider of all the needs of that woman. (This is the team and this is their alotted jobs.) I can see how basically, both the man and the woman are ultimately serving one another..in different and very much needed roles. On the part of the woman (my part) however, it appears God has asked of me to submit to the man: permit him to make final decisions, attempt to complete his requests, aid him in building the family, support his achievements and work for said family, keep peace with him as much as possible (unless he asks for, decides to do, or does something against God) Ok, I don't really see a problem with that as he is also requested to submit himself to God, give up his life and all of his possessions in order to secure resources for his family, love the wife, honor her as God and Christ would honor a temple, serve his family as his family seeks to serve him in their own roles. What is so wrong with this layout? Any good CEO could tell you that a family is like a business and each positon is needed and of high value. However why does this model get so much flac about it? Whether the leader or the leader's assistant, you are BOTH SERVANTS to the same purpose (if its a good, blessed relationship built on this model). Perhaps it is because being Lady of a house is not glorified like it should be (or maybe not economical now)....and most men don't feel the need to be capable leaders (and most just plain don't know how to be anymore.) The attitudes and training of both is so messed up, it leaves them nowhere to go but shallow, short or long, unloving, hard marriages and divorce. What do you think? Women, what do you think of this "job"? Men, what do you think of your "job"?

What is better for a family owned business LLC, LLP, or S-Corp and were to set it up? I want to build a business it might be partnership with a family members. I want it to have freedom to add and remove members. I also heard that sometime if one of the owners die in a partnership that the corporation will have problems. well i don't want those problems. What will be better. Also i heard that the registration fees in delaware and nevada are lower to my home state which is new york. If I setup the corporation in delaware what should i be aware of. What is the chance i will be double taxed.
How do I make custom hair for the Sims 2? I love the Sims, and I can't figure out how to make custom hair for them. I have the Sims 2, family fun stuff, open for business, and nite life. Also, if anyone can give me tips for opening my own business at home, because every time I do, no one buys anything, they just come into my home and play with the TV or swingset. I tried locking the doors for the family only, but then the customers got mad. I even built on a seperate building for the business, and included a bathroom so they had somewhere to go, but they still stayed outside and got mad that they couldn't get into my Sims home. Any ideas??
I'm curious if anyone's heard of this before? I worked for a small design build about 6 years, family business, and remember the couple telling me something about their religion I didn't really 'get'. I didn't feel it appropriate to ask for clarification though. I asked them what their religion was called and they said only, the 'truth'. Not in a matter of fact way, like "Ours is the truth", more of like, a title: The Truth. I remember the wife and children dressed conservatively and the children were extremely well behaved and well mannered but they had no TV at home so that's not a suprise. None of this really struck me though, so much as the fact that I've never had some one describe their religion before. I assumed Jehovah's Witnesses because they held Bible study on Wednesday nights, which they invited me to once; however, anyone can hold a Bible study on any night. I've heard people insist theirs was the truth but never the title being 'The Truth'. Comments? Hun: Really, okay, I didn't know that. I thought that was it. Thanks. 10 points for you
Are the Kennedys REALLY the champion of the little guy? http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/biz/index.php?ntid=207755&ntpid=1 Beebe bought the business after working there a year and Lucey sold the building to the family of President Kennedy. Beebe said the Kennedys bought the building because they wanted a business reason to visit Wisconsin where the former president's sister, Rosemary Kennedy, who was mentally retarded and lobotomized at age 23, spent decades at St. Coletta's in Jefferson until her 2005 death at age 86. They "wanted a business reason to visit Wisconsin"? What can this mean except that these superrich self-styled champions of the little guy were looking for a tax write-off for their personal trips?
Why isn't there more talk of cracking down on businesses to battle illegal immigration? A person without a job can't eat, and they sure can't feed their family. If businesses block/fire those without proper documentation (rather than exploit them) then they're put in a bind, and the choice is completely up to them: They can either stay and starve, or they can return to their home country where they can provide for their family. This includes those with anchor babies. We could build a wall along the border, but I think the most important matter isn't how they GET to the us, but how they STAY. Why don't people talk about this?
online business question? My family runs a business, which is very profitable and I'm planning to bring it online to expand it. I'm a professional I.T. guy, but the only problem is I have no knowledge of web technology. I need help with a couple of things: 1) Any good books about doing e-business? 2) Anywhere I can learn the do's and don't do's in e-business? Any real life successful stories that I can read? 3) Am I better off using an ISP to host my webpage and use their bandwidth instead of getting a business line at home and build a web system in my basement? 4) I pretty much need to hire a guy to design/write the page. However, I feel a bit insecured because I'm relying on him. What if he jacks up the price all the time for maintenance and update? I'm not afraid that he steals my idea because I'm basically doing tradings online, he won't know where I get the stuff.
I have neighbours who are obnoxiosly loud. Is there no recourse for me in Hyderabad India ? I live in an apartment in Hyderabad. We have a neighbouring building in which live a joint business family. They are obnoxiously loud in everything they do(Poojas, celebrations and construction activity) and they are definitely the exception in the whole area. This area is in kacheguda which is not exactly a quiet area. What are my options here other than leaving this place. Talking with them is not an option as it has been tried and they continue to do it. I work from home so this is a showstopper for me. Please help!
Do most people know how much minority groups have helped America in a positive way? Some bash minority groups because they feel they take away from this country, they never point out the positive aspects and the contributions many have made. a few examples: Asians: Math, science to just name two. I have a neighbor who came to America in 1979, she and her husband came to America and couldn't speak a word of English, they rasied 5 boy's and put them through college. They are all very successful with families of their own...they have strong family values. They are clean and keep to themselves and worked very hard and are very humble people. Hispanics: You have to take your hates off to these, they work like crazy and will be rewarded for their efforts. Jewish: They have built business, banks, hotels, nursing homes, many came to this country AFTER 1945 with nothing and built fortunes. Strong family values, moral people with hard work as their calling card. just to name a few thank GOD for the minoritiues that have & are building the USA? Jazmine: The street light was invented in England in 1820 by a Englisman. Look it up, it true
Does family groupware exist? My wife and I are going to do some home remodeling. Coming from an IT background in a large corporation, I realized that a product like MS Project would be a good tool to use to organize the projects, (tracking quotes, timelines, assigning tasks like picking out fixtures and getting building permits). But Project is very expensive so I began to look at alternatives. My family is tech savvy and we all use various "etools" in our lifestyle, (MySpace, Gmail, PDAs, laptops, etc.), and as I expanded my search I realized that what I really wanted was "family groupware" that could tie it all together. A system that could have shared calendars, email and task management. Notes, contacts and collaborative workspaces. Web-based so it could be accessed from anywhere. What I've found is that groupware systems are geared toward businesses with stroke-rendering price tags. I've seen free roll-your-own systems, but I'm not a programmer. Are there any lower cost, turn key solutions out there?
I need strangers advice, because family and friends are one sided.? My boyfriend of 4 years and I have had a rocky time for the past year. Not to sound self absorbed by any means, i am a very intelligent woman, and he is a more, he-man than a emotional man. This never bothered me until about a year ago. We live together and i have 6 horses on his property. Im a horse girl, so im pretty rough and tumble, so i found a rough and tumble guy. Now were both ready to settle down, but he is just so unemotionally dettached. Because we are ready to take the big leap of engagement, this is now becoming a problem. A good friend of mine who is a male, started taking me out more, because my boyfriend is not the going out to dinner or a movie type. We have a 7 year age difference, and im beginning to feel more like his daughter than a girlfriend or potential wife. All was fine with me going out with guy friends, there was no problem between any of us. I started realizing that i was much happier going out with my guy friends and do things my boyfriend didn't like doing. I also started not missing him so much when he is gone on business (truck driver so hes gone alot) . And that butterfly feeling you get when they kiss you has faded. Are we growing apart or am i being judgmental because of what family and friends are saying? I guess im asking for advice, we fight constantly. His business and customers always comes first, and im usually forgotten about until he comes home. And well he is not a horse guy. He is a large man. I used to love his size and build, and now its not so appealing. Hes the stubborn kind of guy that makes harsh decisions. So if i was to leave, there's no coming back. I asked for a break and he said no, it would be over. Do i make the hard decision to leave and see other people? Or hold out for change like Ive done that past 20 times? Family and friends think of him as a jerk, but his family raised him very differently from ours. With what Ive given you, whats your opinion? 4 years is a long time, but im still young..... Do i stay or go?
hulk hogan and his son Nick???? On the tapes from the jail you could hear Nick say "when I get out of jail I want to do a reality show" My question is, what is wrong with this. If he was a carpenter and he said, when I get out of jail I want to get right to work building homes, that would be the same thing.. The guy is in show business, when he gets out of jail he wants to work in the family business....show business. I don't see anything wrong with this. What do you think? He was sentenced to 8 months, after he serves his time. He is free to make money, he paid his debt. Why not make money on it. How is it more morally correct to make no money. He is going to be more famous when he gates out of jail...if he can make some money off of it....why not. You would do it too.
If i am a adult party consultant, is that considered at business? OK... I just moved into a apartment building with my family. I am considering becoming a consultant to sell adult items to make some money. Well this is my problem, my lease has a part about not having business in the home. Here's what it says: Use of The Apartment - The apartment will be occupied exclusively for residential purposes and by those persons listed in the rental application. The Resident will not use the premises or do the following within the premises without the landlord's prior written consent: a. conduct business in the apartment I would only be doing online parties. So the only business i would be doing is shipping the stuff and doing online parties.
Is being a Mother a Real Job,? Maybe it doesn't fit into your way of thinking that a "real job" is one you drive to, clock in and the work, go home and then get a check for at the end of the week. To answer that, here are some facts from my life as a child; My mother had 9 baby's, my parents adopted 9 more. before I left home. I adopted 4 with my mother after my father died, so that she could still adopt girls and give them a good home and a education. Mother Died at 88 after raising 37 kids from birth/adopting to College age. We all have a college education paid for by our parents. We all have degree's, one or more. three are teachers. over 85 grand kids and great grand kids, none of us have been to jail but to visit. All of the men have served in the military for 2 years or more. I think being a Mother was a full time job for her. She got my Fathers check from the time they married until he died at 88 yrs old. They built a family and a business and left it all for their kids to enjoy and share with others. I think she did a great job, and I'm proud to say I was her biggest job too, and I turned out ok. So is being a Mother a real job to you? and why please.
I need help it's like my family is a big HOT MESS!? i know it's long but i have problems i need help PLEASE!? ok so my father and me are not close we barely talk we life in the same house though i talk to my allot and i talk to my sister and brother to but the thing is sometimes my mom and dad are fighting and then my dad always leaves angry then comes home late my dad and my mom always fight with my sister because sometimes when she wants to go out (she is 20) then my dad won't let her and today when i was not home my dad hit my sister in the face because they were fighting again (he doesn't do that normally) and my sister had surgery on her eye a few years ago so she has to be very careful with it well he didn't hit her on her eye i think he hit her on my face but close to hit and days before it already hurt to now it hurts more my mom told me this when i got home but before i left the house me and my sister had a fight because she took my phone and putted her sim in it and my lip gloss and my Perfume and she always does that then i take it back and i ask why she did it she always goes back in time like when i used a her shave cream .then she always turns things around so i look like the bad guy and even though she is the wrong one she always says mean things to me swear words so it always seems like when she does something wrong i get screamed at by her. and well me and my bro get along we fight but just when he teases just fun stuff ya know so we get along but the thing is i really can't get along with my father lately i have been thinking that he is cheating and then i ignore him i nearly say a word to him a day i can't stand him and look at him he disgust me i can't help it i just can't and i don't think he is fare to my mom because like when she asks him were he is going or other things he sometimes gets bad because he thinks that it's non of her business. on my b-day which was this month ( i turned 14) he was the last one to day happy b-day to me at home. my sister who i always fight with went to me when she woke up and told me happy b-day my bro did to my mom too . but he didn't at first i even walked pas him and he didn't even look at me and then later he comes ow i forgot to say happy b-day to you i thought that was disrespectful ( ya know how you feel when it's your b-day and your father doesn't even says happy b-day ) but anyway back to the story when my father hit me sister on her face today now he is away probably because he's bad IDK where he went no one ever knows where goes. that one of the reasons i always think he is cheating. and ow my mom started to go to church a few months ago and she really love sit she is like really holly ( but not when you make her mad then she gets really mad and says bad stuff sometimes)but anyways i just think my family is a big mess!!!!! and today i was suppose to go to my sister her friends little sis her party and we didn't go anymore because of what happened . and tomorrow my sister her Friend is turning 20 and i am invited to and my friends are to but the party is until 2 am so one of my friends are going to sleep at my house after the party but im scared my dad will have a fight again with sister i don't wanna be embarrassed sorry for the long story. 9(PS he is nice sometimes yes he is really quiet and he already has houses built for us so won't need to life in our soul mates house in the future , he not always is my hater so what i mean is sometimes he is nice but still can't stand him he is normal to me but still he did hit my 3 times but that was when i was little he is a nice man but he sometimes does like an butt!)
Any advice?
I want to start a new business: How about the house construction business? I've always wanted to begin a new business and now I'm finally able to start. Last week, here in Toronto there were lineups of people waiting to buy 1 million dollar condominiums! They camped all night long for the opportunity to be lucky enought to be one of the people able to give a down payment on a 1 bed condo. I thouht to myself "WOW, I'VE GOT TO START BUILDING HOMES AND GET RICH FAST !!" I would love to start building single family houses in Florida because it's just too cold up here, and I hear that it is so easy to borrow cash with no money down, that even cats and dogs can get million dollar loans now !! So, my question is: What do you think of getting a 2% loan on about $20 million, no-money-down, and start building homes on either the West or South-East coast of Florida? I have a magagine from Florida in 2005 that shows that Florida is BOOMING !!! I can't wait to make my MILLIONS also ! Tell me, what's it like down there now ?? Will my plan work? I don't want to wait too long because I don't want to let this greatest Real Estate opportunity of a lifetime pass me by.
What taxes do YOU think should be abolished - and how would you finance them? There are many taxes which are both unfair and counter productive. Abolishing ALL 'Inheritance' tax would enable many people to set up businesses and pay their way when they would otherwise seek state help - health care and unemployment benefit, child care and private education for example, would all reduce the burden on the taxpayer. ALL 'stamp duty' is unjustified - just another tax to burden those trying to provide a home for their family or build up a capital asset. All this is easily paid for by cancelling 'Trident' and the 'Eurofighter' junk-heap.
What do u think of these 911 conspiracy theories & debunks? The main conspiracy points put forward are outlined below. (These points are in no particular order) Conspiracy 1) The George W Bush administration conspired to either organize the attacks or, at the very least, allowed them to take place. The evidence for this, conspirators argue, comes in the form of a policy document - Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century (pdf, size: 852KB) (external link to newamericancentury.org) - which was written a year before 9/11. The report was authored by leading members of the Bush administration under the name of The Project for the New American Century (Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush were contributors to this report, according to UK Channel 4 documentary 'The 9/11 Conspiracies', broadcast 9/9/2004). The report says that it would only be possible to fully secure America's defenses in the world if there was a 'catastrophic' or 'catalyzing event', 'such as a Pearl Harbor'. Michael Moore's movie Fahrenheit 911 argues that the Bush presidency used 911 to radically increase powers at home and to increase a climate of fear, so that it could wage wars which will increase America's influence in other areas - American business has much to gain from the reconstruction and oil in Iraq. In a meeting after 11th September, Bush was keen to find a connection with Iraq so that it could be attacked. Counter: There is a report, and it does say these things (page 63), but does it mean that these people therefore engineered 9/11? This is seen as a smoking gun by many conspirators, and even for skeptics this is quite a strange report. The counter must be that the George W Bush administration would be absolute monsters to do it. After 9/11 they pretty much did react in the way set out in the report, which could be seen as an understandable reaction if they felt the country was under attack. Iraq never had anything to do with 9/11. Conspiracy 2) President George W Bush, or those in his Administration, stood down air defenses on September 11, 2001. According to the conspiracy argument, in the year before 9/11, commercial airlines went off-course 57 times and in each case they were given an airforce escort. Where were the airforce on 9/11? If there was such an order it would have had to come from at least Vice President level. Counter: The 9/11 Commission looked into this and did not find evidence of a stand down order. Embarrassingly for the USA, however, this investigation revealed that the USA was particularly vulnerable on 9/11 to this type of attack. As part of the peace dividend, following the collapse of the Berlin Wall and Communism, savings were made to the airforce cover provided inside the USA. The emphasis was more on preventing an attack from abroad, not from inside the US itself. So, airforce cover had been shut down as a long term policy, rather than told to stand down specifically for these attacks. (Where does the assertion that, 57 times before 9/11, the airforce did provide cover come from?) Conspiracy 3) The Pentagon attack. The Pentagon was not even hit by flight 77, but was hit by a missile under US orders. The impact crater in the Pentagon was only 18 feet wide, but it had just been hit by a Boeing 757 which has a wing span of 125 feet and a tail 40ft high! There was also little wreckage. The US (or Soviets, or UFO) must have bombed it with a missile, surely? Counter: Many credible eyewitnesses saw a Boeing 757 hit the Pentagon. Security camera footage (from which the still, above, is taken), which was used by those putting forward this conspiracy argument, missed flight 77 actually hitting the Pentagon, it just sees the explosion (it also doesn't show a missile hitting the Pentagon either by the way). The plane hit the building at some 500 miles an hour, the subsequent inferno burnt up the plane which explains why hardly any wreckage was found. Evidence: To see the video (released under the Public Information Act 16th May 2006, click here (.wmv format)) to see all the frames from this video click here. Conspiracy 4) The sudden collapse of the Twin Towers. Conspirators say that a steel framed high rise building has never collapsed before just because of fire. The collapse is consistent with a controlled demolition. Did US agents plant explosive charges to maximize the death toll? Counter: The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were designed in the 1960's to withstand either a hit from an airplane or fire, but this attack was both together. Leslie Robertson, Structural Engineer of the World Trade Center: "There is no evidence there was a bomb inside." The planes were filled with fuel and this set off a chain reaction in the buildings which caused the damage. Conspiracy 4b) We have seen arguments that the following footage shows a controlled explosion (video: wmv rm). We just don't see it that way. A controlled demolition would have required an explosion from the bottom, all this video shows is the tower collapsing from above. It is said that you can hear a large bang (the commentator refers to it) but that could easily have come from the beginning of the collapse at the top of the structure. Conspiracy 4c) We have also heard arguments that the top-down collapse of the mainly steel Twin Towers can be compared to a controlled explosion of a brick and mortar building, as seen in this example (wmv rm). Trouble is, the Twin Towers did not collapse like the second controlled demolition example in this video. In the controlled demolition example the explosive charge is set at the base of the structure (you can't see it explode because there are buildings in the way), the explosion then starts off a domino type effect and the entire structure collapses downwards. The Twin Towers collapsed from the top down, not bottom-up like in a controlled explosion. Conspiracy 4d) We have also heard it alleged that the secret services have hushed up satellite images which apparently show a heat source at Ground Zero, after the collapse of the building. The conspiracy says that it was this (additional) heat source that enabled the Twin Towers to collapse in the way that they did. However, following the high heat required to destroy the towers from the aircraft filled with fuel, we would expect to see a heat image following the collapse of the building, and don't see that this proves there was an additional heat source put there to create the controlled demolition. Conspiracy 5) Israeli agents knew of the 9/11 attacks in advance but did nothing to try to stop them, hoping it could be used to their advantage against the Arabs. A group of men in a van were seen apparently celebrating when they saw the Twin Towers being attacked. They were arrested by police. The police were suspicious. They found dual passports, $4000 cash in a sock. At least one of the men was Israeli secret service who refused to take a lie detector test for 10 weeks. Counter: This opened up a conflict between Israel and the USA. The USA seemed to be unaware that Israel were spying on them. The men were not charged, apparently on the condition that Israel stops spying on the USA. There is no evidence that Israeli secret service had any information on 9/11 before it happened. Conspiracy 6) Similar to Conspiracy 5) but the House of Saud were behind the 9/11 attacks in the hope that the USA would then take action against the growing fundamentalism which is particularly destabilizing for them in Saudi Arabia. Immediately after 9/11, charter flights crisscrossed the USA picking up high ranking Saudis including many bin laden family members to enable them to leave the country. Surely they were material witnesses who should at least have been questioned? This is alleged to be part of a cover up as there are close family/business ties between the Bush family and the House of Saud. Conspiracy 7) Al Qaeda used the stock market to make money out of the 9/11 attacks. Suspicious short selling was observed in the airline companies involved in the attacks, which meant that someone somewhere profited when the price of the airlines involved in the attacks fell sharply when the stock exchange reopened. Counter: The 9/11 Commission investigated all trades and found no links to Al Qaeda. There are millions of trades outstanding at any time in a market the size of Wall Street. It is unlikely that Al Qaeda would be able to do this without it being traced back to them as the market is highly regulated (highly auditable WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?
Which part of the script should I use to draw a picture of? Lilo And Stitch Script Read the charges. Dr. Jumba Jookiba-- lead scientist of Galaxy Defense Industries-- you stand before this council accused of illegal genetic experimentation. How do you plead? Not guilty! My experiments are only theoretical-- completely within legal boundaries. We believe you actually created something. Created something?! Ha! But that would be irresponsible and unethical. I would never, ever... make more than one. What is that monstrosity? Monstrosity! What you see before you is the first of a new species. I call it Experiment 626. He is bulletproof, fireproof and can think faster than supercomputer. He can see in the dark and move objects times his size. His only instinct: To destroy everything he touches! So, it is a monster. Hey, just a little one. It is an affront to nature. It must be destroyed! Calm yourself, Captain Gantu. Perhaps it can be reasoned with. Experiment 626 give us some sign you understand any of this. Show us that there is something inside you that is good. Hmm? Meega, nala kweesta! So naughty! I didn't teach it that. Place that idiot scientist under arrest! I prefer to be called evil genius! And as for that abomination... it is the flawed product of a deranged mind. It has no place among us. Captain Gantu, take him away. With pleasure. Hmm. Uncomfortable? Oh... Good! The council has banished you to exile on a desert asteroid. So, relax... enjoy the trip and don't get any ideas. These guns are locked onto your genetic signature. They won't shoot anyone but you. Ow! Why, you...! May I remind the captain that he is on duty. Secure the cell! Aye, Captain. Captain on deck. All ahead full. Do... Does this, uh, look infected to you? Oh! Quiet, you. Gunfire in the cell bay! Open a channel. He's loose on Deck C! Red alert. Seal off the deck! Security, converge on door seven! Deadly force authorized. Fire on sight! There he is! Security to Bridge. It's in the ventilation system. He's headed for the power... grid. What was that? I don't think he's on the ship anymore. Confirmed. He's taken a police cruiser. Yeah... he took the red one. Yee-haw! Hmm?! That's it! We got it. We got it! Hyperdrive activated. System charging. He's engaged his H-drive! Warning-- guidance is not functional. Pursuit Commander that crazy trog is about to make a jump! Break formation! Get clear of that ship! Navigation failure. Do not engage hyper... Get me Galactic Control. Where is he?! Most of the planet is covered in it. He won't survive in water. His molecular density is too great. No... Of course. How much time do we have? We have projected his landing at three hours, minutes. Oh, we have to gas the planet. Hold it! Hold everything! Earth is a protected wildlife preserve. Yeah. We've been using it to rebuild the mosquito population which, need I remind you, is an endangered species! Am I to assume you are the expert? Oh, I don't know about expert. Agent Pleakley at your service. Can we not simply destroy the island? No! Crazyhead! The mosquito's food of choice, primitive humanoid life forms have colonies all over that planet. Are they intelligent? No, but they're very delicate. In fact, every time an asteroid strikes their planet they have to begin life all over. It's fascinating, isn't it? With this, I've been able to study... What if our military forces just landed there? Well, that'd be a bad idea! These are extremely simple creatures, miss. Landing there would create mass mayhem and planet-wide panic! A quiet capture would require an understanding of - - that we do not possess! Who, then, Mr. Pleakley, would you send for his extraction? Does he have a brother? Close grandmother, perhaps? Friendly cousin? Neighbor with a beard? He got away? I'm sure this comes as no surprise to you. I designed this creature for to be unstoppable. Which is precisely why you must now bring him back. What? Me? And to reward you we are willing to trade your freedom for his capture. - - will not come easily. Maybe direct hit from plasma cannon might stun him long enough to... Plasma cannon granted. Do we have a bargain, Dr. Jumba? B-B-But it's a delicate planet! Who's going to control him? You will. So I asked my sister what to give him and she said a tuna sandwich. I can't give Pudge tuna! Do you know what tuna is? Fish? It's fish! If I gave Pudge tuna, I'd be an abomination! I'm late because I had to go to the store and get peanut butter 'cause all we have is-is stinkin' tuna! Lilo, Lilo, why is this so important? Pudge controls the weather. You're crazy. Please! Please! Everybody calm down! Girls... Shh. Lilo... I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I won't do it again! Maybe we should call your sister. No! I'll be good! I want to dance. I practiced. I just want to dance. I practiced. Ooh, she bit me. Eww! I called your sister. She said to wait for her here on the porch. We'll try again on Sunday. Does this look infected to you? Yeah. You better not have rabies. If you have rabies the dogcatcher is going to have to cut... Are you going to play dolls? You don't have a doll. This is Scrump. I made her, but her head is too big. So I pretend a bug laid eggs in her ears, and she's upset because she only has a few more days to... Lilo! Lilo? Lilo? Oh, no. You better be home. Hey! Watch where you're going! Stupidhead! I found a new place to dwell... Oh, Lilo! Lilo! Open the door, Lilo! Go away. ...You make me so lonely, baby... Lilo? We don't have time for this. ...I get so lonely... Leave me alone to die. Come on, Lilo that social worker's going to be here any minute! ...You still can find some room For brokenhearted lovers to cry away their gloom Don't make me so lonely, baby Don't make me so lonely I get so lonely I could die... The bellhop's tears keep flowin'... You are so finished when I get in there! Well, they been so long on Lonely Street They ain't ever gonna look back... Love... and nurturing. Hi. Uh... You must be the, uh... The stupidhead. Oh! Oh... Oh, you know, I'm really sorry about that and if I'd known who you were, of course I never would've... Uh... I can pay for that. It's a rental. Are you the guardian in question? Yes. I'm Nani. Nice to meet you, Mister...? Bubbles. Mr. Bubbles. That's a strange... Yes, I know. Are you going to invite me in, Nani? Uh... I thought we could sit out here and talk. I don't think so. Right. Uh... ...It's always crowded... This way. ...You still can find some room For brokenhearted lovers to cry away their gloom You make me so lonely, baby... Uh... wait here. Hey! So... lemonade? Do you often leave your sister home alone? No. Never. Well, except forjust now. Uh, I had to run to the store to get some... Oh! You left the stove on while you were out? Low heat! Just a simmer. Mmm! It's coming along great. I found that this morning. Lilo! There you are. Honeyface... this is Mr. Bubbles. Nice to meet you. Your knuckles say Cobra. Cobra Bubbles. You don't look like a social worker. I'm a special classification. Did you ever kill anyone? We're getting off the subject. Let's talk about you. Are you happy? I'm adjusted. I eat four food groups and look both ways before crossing the street and take long naps, and get disciplined. Disciplined? Yeah. She disciplines me real good. Sometimes five times a day. -With bricks. -No... Bricks? Uh-huh, in a pillowcase. Okay! That's enough sugar for you. Why don't you run along, you little cutie. The other social workers just thought she was a scream. Thirsty? Let me illuminate to you the precarious situation in which you have found yourself. I am the one they call when things go wrong and things have indeed gone wrong. My friends need to be punished. Call me next time you're left here alone. Yep. In case you're wondering, this did not go well. You have three days to change my mind. -Blah. -Eww! Lilo! Why didn't you wait at the school? You were supposed to wait there! Lilo! Do you not understand? Do you want to be taken away? Answer me! No! No, you don't understand? No! No, what? No! You're such a pain! So why don't you sell me and buy a rabbit instead?! At least a rabbit would behave better than you! Go ahead! Then you'll be happy because it'll be smarter than me, too! And quieter! You'll like it, 'cause it's stinky, like you! Go to your room! I'm already in my room! Hey. I brought you some pizza, in case you were hungry. We're a broken family, aren't we? No. Maybe, a little. Maybe a lot. I shouldn't have yelled at you. We're sisters. It's ourjob. Yeah, well, from now on... I like you better as a sister than a mom. Yeah? And you like me better as a sister than a rabbit, right? Oh... Oh, oh, oh, oh. Yes. Yes, I do. I hit Mertle Edmonds today. You hit her? Before I bit her. You bit her. Lilo, you shouldn't... People treat me different. They just don't know what to say. I'll tell you what. If you promise not to fight anymore I promise not to yell at you, except on special occasions. Tuesdays and bank holidays would be good. Yeah? Would that be good? Oh! My camera's full again. Aren't they beautiful? A falling star! I call it! Get out! Get out! I have to make a wish! Can't you go any faster? Oh, no! Gravity is increasing on me. No, it's not! It is, too, Lilo. The same thing happened yesterday. You rotten sister! Your butt is crushing me! Why do you act so weird?! It's me again. I need someone to be my friend... someone who won't run away. Maybe send me an angel... the nicest angel you have. What we when hit? There it is. It stay jammed under the fender. We better call somebody. We're looking for something that can defend itself... something that won't die... something sturdy, you know? Like a lobster. Lilo, you lolo. Do we have a lobster door? No. We have a dog door. We are getting a dog. So nice to see your pretty face again! Jumba? We need your name and address at the bottom of the form... The kennel's back this way. Go. Pick someone out. Hello? Hello?! Are there any aminals in here? Hello! Hi. Hoh... ha... Hi... Wow! Oh, yes. Mm-hmm. All of our dogs are adoptable. Except that one! What is that thing?! A dog, I think. But it was dead this morning. It was dead this morning?! Well, we thought it was dead. It was hit by a truck. I like him! Come here, boy. Oh! Aah! Wouldn't you like a different dog? We have better dogs, dear. Not better than him. He can talk! Say hello. He... Hel... Dogs can't talk, dear. He did. Does it have to be this dog? Yes, he's good. I can tell. You'll have to think of a name for him. His name is... Stitch. Now, that's not a real name... Hmm. Uh-uh, uh-uh-uh. ...in Iceland... but here, it's a good name. Stitch it is. And there's a two dollar license fee. I want to buy him! Can I borrow two dollars? He's all yours. You're all mine. Well, what's he doing? Shh! Keep quiet. He's listening for us. How good is his hearing? I mean, can he... Why don't you run? Coming! I'm coming! Stop! I have just determined this situation to be far too hazardous! Don't worry, I won't hit her. No! That girl is a part of the mosquito food chain. Here! Educate yourself. Using a little girl for a shield. This is low, even for you! Whoo-hoo! Bah! Tear him apart with all both my bare hands! Have you lost your mind?! What is it, Stitch? We cannot be seen! Bad dog, barking at nothing! You can't shoot, and you can't be seen. Look at you! You look like a monster. We have to blend in. Okay, I got to get to work. Stick around town and stay out of the roads, okay? I'll meet you at : . Hmm? Oh! Ah! Okay, I guess we should be going. What about Stitch? My friends! What do you want? I'm sorry I bit you and pulled your hair and punched you in the face. Apology not accepted. Now get out of my way before I run you over. I got a new dog. His name is Stitch. That is the ugliest thing I have ever saw. -Yeah. -Yeah. Eww! Get it away from me! I'm gonna get a disease! Somebody do something! Oh, great! He's loose. His destructive programming is taking effect. He will be irresistibly drawn to large cities where he will back up sewers reverse street signs and steal everyone's left shoe. It's nice to live on an island with no large cities. Are you okay? Doo-doo... Doo-doo... You can shake an apple off an apple tree Shake-a, shake-a, sugar, but you'll never shake me -Uh-uh-uh -Doo-doo-doo No, siree, uh-uh... Uh-uh. ...Doo-doo-doo Doo-doo-doo I'm gonna stick like glue Stick because I'm... Stuck on you I'm gonna run my fingers Through your long, black hair... Hey, over here, little buddy. ...Squeeze you tighter than a grizzly bear -Uh-uh-uh -Doo-doo-doo Yes, siree, uh-huh Doo-doo-doo, Doo-doo-doo I'm gonna stick like glue Stick because I'm... Stuck on you Hide in the kitchen Hide in the hall Ain't gonna do you no good at all 'Cause once I catch ya and the kissin' starts A team o' wild horses couldn't tear us apart Try to take a tiger from his daddy's side... When you're ready to give up just let us know, heh? Whee! ...Uh-uh-uh... Yeah! This is you. This is your badness level. It's unusually high for someone your size. We have to fix that. Ay-yi-yi, Lilo! Your dog cannot sit at the table. Stitch is troubled. He needs desserts. Oh, you didn't even eat your sweet potato. I thought you liked them. Desserts! David! I got a new dog. Oh! You sure it's a dog? Uh-huh. He used to be a collie before he got ran over. Yum! Hey... Blah! Eww! Howzit, Nani? Did you catch fire again? Nah, just the stage. Listen, I was wondering if you're not doing anything this... David, I told you, I can't. I... I got a lot to deal with right now. I know. I just figured you might need some time... You smell like a lawn mower. Look, I got to go. The kid at table three's throwing poi again. Maybe some other time, okay? Don't worry. She likes your butt and fancy hair. I know. I read her diary. She thinks it's fancy? Blech! Oh! Mmm! Aha! Look what I find! Get restraints! Right. Ow! Take that! Hurry! Uh, hold still just a... Aah! Hey, Nani! Is that your dog? Uh... All is well. Please, go about your business. I'm okay. Oh, your head looks swollen. Actually, she's just ugly. Darling... He's joking. Ugly-- look at me... Uh, this is not working out. Uh, b-but... Mm-mm. Yeah? Well, who wants to work at this stupid... fakey luau anyway. Come on, Lilo. Did you lose yourjob because of Stitch and me? Nah. The manager's a vampire and he wanted me to join his legion of the undead. I knew it. This is a great home. You'll like it a lot. See? Uh, Lilo... Comfy. -Hey! -Hey! What is the matter with you? Be careful of the little angel! It's not an angel, Lilo. I don't even think it's a dog. We just have to take him back. He's just cranky because it's his bedtime. He's creepy, Lilo. I won't sleep while he's loose in the house. You're loose in the house all the time and I sleep just fine! Hey, what are you doing? Stop that, Stitch! Hey! Look at him, Lilo. He's obviously mutated from something else. We have to take him back. He was an orphan and we adopted him! What about O'hana? He hasn't been here that long. Neither have I. Dad said O'hana means family. Huh? O'hana means family. Family means... ...nobody gets left behind. Or...? Or forgotten. I know. I know. I hate it when you use O'hana against me. Mmm. Don't worry, you can sleep right next to me. Look how curious the puppy is. This is my room, and this is your bed. This is your dolly and bottle. See? Doesn't spill. I filled it with coffee. Good puppy. Now get into bed. Hey! That's mine! Down! Mmm! Be careful of that! You don't touch this! Don't ever touch it! No! Don't pull on her head! She's recovering from surgery. No! That's from my blue period. Mmm... There. You know, you wreck everything you touch. Why not try and make something for a change? Ah! Wow. San Francisco. Save me! Eek! No more caffeine for you. This little girl is wasting her time. - - cannot be taught to ignore its destructive programming. Ooh! Push that over. What are you doing? Nothing! Uh, say, I want to try it on. No! Share! Let me try it! Hey! Ow! You're justjealous 'cause I'm pretty! Don't move. A mosquito has chosen me as her perch. She's so beautiful. Look, another one. And another one! Why, it's a whole flock. And they like me! They're nuzzling my flesh with their noses. Now they're, um, they're.... I think it might be a koala. An evil koala. I can't even pet it. It keeps staring at me, like it's going to eat me. Hello? Nani? Hello? Are you there? Now, this is interesting. What? - - was designed to be a monster but now he has nothing to destroy. You see, I never gave him a greater purpose. What must it be like to have nothing... not even memories to visit in the middle of the night? Nah! Hmm. Hmm... That's the Ugly Duckling. See? He's sad because he's all alone and nobody wants him but on this page, his family hears him crying and they find him. Then the Ugly Duckling is happy because he knows where he belongs. Hmm... Want to listen to the King? You look like an Elvis fan. Nani. Nani! Uh... yeah? Look. We can't go on together With suspicious minds... ...cious minds... ...can build our dreams... ...On suspicious minds... Heard you lost yourjob. Well, uh, actually, I just quit thatjob because, you know, the hours are just not conducive to the challenges of raising a child... Hey! I am so sorry about that. What is that thing? That's my puppy. Really? Thus far, you have been adrift in the sheltered harbor of my patience but I cannot ignore you beingjobless. Do I make myself clear? Perfectly. And next time I see this dog I expect it to be a model citizen... capisce? Uh... yes? New job. Model citizen. Good day. You look like an angel... Mrs. Hasagawa? I'm here to answer your newspaper ad. Elvis Presley was a model citizen. ...Walk like an angel... I've compiled a list of his traits for you to practice. Number one is dancing. I can't talk now, dear. I'm waiting for someone to answer my ad. That's why I'm here. Hands on your hips. Now follow my lead. Ooh-hoo. ...You fooled me with your kisses... Ah! That's my want ad. I know! ...Heaven knows how you lied to me You're not the way... Whoa, whoa! Why is everything so dark? I am all about coffee. Let's move on to step two. ...Walk like an angel... Elvis played guitar. Okay, this is it. ...But I was sure surprised... Time to bring it all together. Oh, that'd be so great! You have no idea how badly I need this job. ...The devil in your eyes You're the devil in disguise... It's all you! Knock 'em dead! ...The devil in disguise You're the devil in disguise... Sometimes things have to change and maybe sometimes they're for the better... even if... Nani! David! I think I found you a job. You what?! Old man Kukhkini's store, but we got to hurry. Oh, um, okay. Lilo? Baby, this is really important. I need you to stay here for a few minutes. I'm going to be right back. Lock the door and don't answer it for anyone, okay? Things are finally turning around. Aw, David, I owe you one. That's okay. You can just date me, and we'll call it even. Come back here, you little...! Stitch? What is it? Shh! Oh, hiding behind your little friend won't work anymore. Didn't I tell you? We got fired this morning. New rules. Ha! Ooh. Oh, ooh! Ow! Ow! Ow! You ain't nothin' but a hound dog... What are we going to do? ...Cryin' all the time... Ooh! I love this song! Pliers. Screwdriver. Check. Come out, my friend from whomever you're hiding behind. ...Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit And you ain't no friend of mine... What the...? Ooh! Come on! What's the big deal? I'll put you back together again. I'll make you taller and not so fluffy! I like fluffy! No... No... No! Oh, leave my mother out of this! You could do with a makeover. I tried to give you my good looks but let's face it, something went wrong. No! Quick! Follow me! If we make it to... You're alive! They're all over the place! Running away? Here... let me stop you. You always get in the way! Where's the girl? What have you done to the girl? Hello? Cobra Bubbles? Aliens are attacking my house. No, no, no! No aliens! Blue punch buggy! No punch back. They want my dog! There's no need to alert the authorities. Everything's under control. Lilo, who was that? Oh, good, my dog found the chainsaw. Lilo! Don't hang...! Ha! You shouldn't play with guns. Oh, okay. Thank you. Oh, I just remembered. It's your birthday! Happy birthday! Merry Christmas! It's not Christmas. Happy Hanukkah! We're leaving Stitch? Trust me. This is not going to end well. -One potato. -Two potato. -Three potato. -Four. -Five potato. -Six potato. Seven potato, more. My... mother... told... me... you... are... it. Oh, I win! Thanks. Mahalo plenty. You won't be disappointed. I'll show up early to help with the morning deliver... Oh, don't turn left. No. One of them had a giant eye in the middle of his face. Oh, Lilo! Please don't do this. You know I have no choice. No! You're not taking her! I'm the only one who understands her! You take that away, she won't stand a chance! You're making this harder than it needs to be. But you don't know what you're doing! She needs me! Is this what she needs?! It seems clear to me that you need her a lot more than she needs you. Lilo! Lilo! -Lilo! -Lilo! Lilo! -Lilo! -Lilo! You ruined everything. You're one of them? Ooh! Get out of here, Stitch. Surprise! And here I thought you'd be difficult to catch. Ho-ho-ho. Silly me. Lilo? Lilo! There you go, all buckled up for the trip. And look-- I even caught you a little snack. No! Stop! Lilo. Aah! Okay, talk. I know you had something to do with this. Now where is Lilo? Talk! I know you can. Okay, okay. Where's Lilo? Lilo... Now all your washing is up! You're under arrest! Read him his rights. Listen carefully. Hello? Galactic Command? Experiment 626 is in custody. We'll wait right here. Huh? Don't interact with her. Where's Lilo? Who? What?! Lilo... my sister. Uh, sorry, we do not know anyone by this, uh... Lilo! She's a little girl-- this big! She has black hair and brown eyes and she hangs around with that thing! Uh... We know her. Bring her back. Oh, we can't do that. Uh-uh. That would be a misuse of Galactic resources. See, problem is... we're just here for him. So she's gone? Look at the bright side. You won't have to yell at anyone anymore. Come. O'hana. Huh? Hey! Get away from her. No! What did you say? O'hana means family. Family means... ...nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten. Yeah. Hey... What?! After all you put me through you expect me to help you just like that?! Just like that?! Ih.
How do I prove he's lying about his companies income to try and avoid proper Child Support? He's claiming his company is not turning any profit over, when I know it is. He claims his weekly draw went down significantly dating 6 mos ago right before I took him to court for child support. Yet, 6 mos ago he paid $10,000 for a family vacation (not business related) and company money paid for it. He build himself a 4 bedroom home 6 mos ago. Purchased a new truck for the company (why does he need a new truck if hes in debt?) I could see the truck for a write off if hes turning profit, but he claims its not. He also used $25,000 on criminal attorneys for molesting my daughter out of company money. But he is telling the courts his company is not making any money and his weekly pay has gone down since business expenses have gone up and business has been slower. At the same time he is claiming he is still working 60 hrs a week. Why would he be working 60 hrs a week if business is slow?
Is there any online or home money making business out there? I would like to build anything wood or plastic etc........ at home without fronting money first, all home based! also the whole family would like to be involved. also the company would have to pass through the bbb (better bisness bureau) shipped to me/built/shipped back.
Do I have to pay taxes on my business if..? I haven't actually sold anything yet? I started a home based business in September. Tried to dropship a couple of items on ebay and got no results. Haven't tried since (working on another way) but do I have to file anything for it? My losses were minimal (so small, I don't plain on claiming them). I live in NY. I paid a couple bucks in listing fees and that's it. Any help would be great. I would rather not have to go see an accountant and spend the money for nothing. Oh, I did go through and get my business registered with the local county & a business checking account. This is something I want to build, but had family issues that prevented me from going full force.
When you allow family to share your home, where are the boundaries? 4 months ago, I agreed to help my 48 yr old sister and her 18 yr old son break out of an 8 yr on/off relationship with a man I didn't like. This man is not the father of her child. She left him with no money, no job and no self esteem. I allowed them to move into my home temporarily while they get back on their feet. This is the 4th time during the last 8 yrs that I have done this. On previous occassions, she has eventually returned to the relationship. This time, my sister says she will not return to him and may need to say with us for about 12 months. My husband and I had finally seen our two sons move out and had had the house to ourselves for about 2 months when the distraught sibling phoned in tears. My double garage is now full of furniture and the street outside my house looks like a used car lot! However, things have been going OK. We worked out a grocery plan that works for us, we take turns cooking meals and using the washing machine, even taking showers at different times so we don't run out of hot water! My sister got a job, my nephew started Uni, my husband did the well overdue mechanical services on both of their cars. We let the first of the utility bills slide (electricity, gas, phone) and we do not charge any rent or board so that they have the opportunity to save. All we ask is that our home is still open to our own children and my work from home business is not adversely affected. Then my nephew met a girl at Uni...... how nice for him, we thought, that he is making friends and having a life. He took her out a couple of times then asked if he could bring her home. We were delighted. She is a 1st yr student in a different course at the same Uni. She has a tiny build which belies her age (24) and she hides behind a layer of shoulder length straight dark hair. She responded, all be it inadequately, to any of the direct questions my sister asked on her first visit, but in general, she doesn't speak much: at least not to us! As the weeks have gone by, she started staying a night here and there with a muffled hello or goodbye. She says she has allergies and is on a special diet so we are unable to cook for her. We have offered but she mostly declines. She brings and prepares her own food when we are not in the kitchen. The overnight stays have increased now. My nephew asked me if it was alright for her to come over at 2pm on Friday as she didn't have Uni - he would not be home until 5pm or later. I agreed for two reasons: he caught me off guard, and I really did want to accommodate him. So she breezed in at 1.30 pm, carrying a box full of her stuff, muttered hello from beneath her bent head, dumped her box in the nephews room and proceeded to the bathroom for a 30 min hot shower!! I was on my lunch break and had to resume work at 3 pm - I work in a studio separate from my home and had to leave the girl in my home when my clients arrived. Now I am uncomfortable. I mentioned my concerns firstly to my husband, and secondly to my sister, who both agreed that perhaps this is unusual, but convinced me to see it as a one off. My sister is worried that if her son could not treat my home as his own he might consider moving out, which he cannot afford at present. However, the girlfriend turned up again this Friday at 2 pm and LET HERSELF IN WITH A KEY!!! Again the muffled attempts at hello and into MY shower for 40mins!! My nephew came home at 6pm and this girl has been alone in my house while I work for 4 hours. I am not happy! Am I just being unreasonable? After all the compromises I have may for my sister and her son, must I also feel uncomfortable in my own home with a girl that doesn't even acknowledge me???? Your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks... Yes, my husband is a saint and I love him very much. I try and tell him everyday!
ghosts?????????? Anyone who is dead is a ghost. And we know there are lots of dead people out there. There are more ghosts than living people. Ghosts are all around us. Ghosts interact with us on an emotional level. They try to influence us to get us to react to them. The good ghosts could be considered to be our allies and spirit guides. They communicate with us on an emotional level, encouraging us, inspiring us, sometimes protecting us, even warning us of potential dangers ahead. The bad ghosts could be considered to be our enemies and they try to affect us on emotional levels in negative ways. A negative ghost will usually appear during arguments, fights, criminal activity, unhappy or depressive states of mind, severe substance abuse, and just about any negative event that could possibly be aggravated by an unseen strong emotional presence. That strong emotional presence that is unseen is usually a ghost. Most ghosts are good, and have good intentions. Ghosts also appear very often during our dreams. It is natural for us to want to communicate with loved ones and friends who have passed on. Most people communicate with ghosts during sleep. During our waking state, certain emotionally charged environments like old buildings, homes and apartments, violent activity or crime scenes, severe substance abuse, anger and depressive states of mind, can create an atmosphere where ghosts can be seen more easily. We all generate and release emotional energy into our environments. This can accumulate in our living and working environments, and attract ghosts. Negative ghosts feed on fear, anger and rage. Negative ghosts are the only ones we need to worry about. Never be afraid of a ghost. Never panic. They pick up on that, and it makes them stronger, more bold, and more connected to you or your property. It is very natural for us to have positive ghosts around. They are Spirit guides. They could be ourloved ones or friends we have known. Good ghost do not live in our homes. That's important to understand. They have better things to do. They do communicate with us and try to help us in many ways. But they are not attached to us, our homes or our businesses. They're not around us all the time. They give us our space. Negative ghosts, or ghosts with bad intentions, do attack individuals, families, businesses, and groups. They can also be territorial and attach themselves to property. There are two kinds of negative ghosts. Ghosts that have been human. And ghosts that have not and have no love for humanity. Some ghosts are very negative and very powerful. They have spent a great deal of time and effort learning how to manipulate other beings on an emotional level. Sometimes when the atmosphere is right, they can also affect physical reality. The best way to get rid of a negative ghost that's in your home or business is an Exorcism. Sometimes if an attack is severe enough, a professional Exorcist is required to properly clear the home. Most ghosts that have negative intentions can be dangerous and aggressive. A negative ghost is usually, but not always, a negative person who is dead. A person who was doing negative things during their lifetime, very often continues to pursue negative activities and goals after death. Most people don't change that quickly, and death is no exception. Most of the negative ghosts that we come into contact with are essentially ghosts engaging in morally criminal activity. Negative ghosts attack just about anyone they feel they can manipulate. It happens every day all over the world. In every city. In every village. Another kind of negative ghost, which is commonly referred to as a demon, or evil spirit, also attack businesses, families, individuals and homes. They're much more powerful and adept at affecting human beings on an emotional level. They're very dangerous and usually highly intelligent. They may never have been human. And they most assuredly do not like us. Although not as common as a human ghost, demonic spirits do exist and do attack people. Negative ghosts also attack individuals for revenge, or to even some kind of score. A ghost that has negative intentions may decide to stay in our home or business. They can become attached to individuals and property, and can be very territorial. Some ghosts become attached to places they have lived or worked in the past. Their inability or unwillingness to move on causes them to latch on to things they have known, places they have been, people they have spent time with. Long ago, many people lived in each castle. Many emotional events took place in these huge dwellings. Sometimes bizarre religious practices and even physical restraint and torture occurred. Over the span of time, trapped emotional energies causes ghosts to take an interest in such emotionally laden environments. For decades, the media have focused on ghosts haunting mansions and castles, well-known places or rural areas Ghosts spend very little time in empty buildings. Ghosts can easily move from building to building, village to village, city to city. There are many ways to perceive a ghost. Visually through the eyes is just one of the many ways. We can also hear ghosts. But by far the most commonly used method of perception is, telepathically through the mind. This is the most natural way to perceive a ghost. The feeling one gets, is like being in two places at one time. Seeing two things at once. A ghost is usually seen with the mind's eye. A ghost is usually heard with the mind's ear. Ghosts do not have vocal cords. They have no physical attributes at all. But they can communicate with us telepathically and emotionally. And they do. DOES ANYONE BELIEVE IN G-G-G-G-GHOSTS????? I CALLED THE GHOSTBUSTERS BUT THEY'RE JUST TOO BUSY GUYS.

Financial help for widows? I lost my husband almost 2yrs ago, he was V.P. of the family business. When he passed away his family said that I would not have any part of the business, which was next to our house, They said that his shares went back to them, I keep getting different answers from them. His brother took over the business less than a year he moved the company away from my house. My husband got a home equity loan to build the new office and they were paying the rent. Now that they have moved I am stuck with a high mortage payment. I did have a lawyer but he wasn't very good, and he wanted money for everything he did for me. Does anybody have any advise for me, or what I can do ??? I'm left with a mortage that I really shouldn't have to pay. And I would like to keep my house right before my husband passed away we were getting ready to adopt. So I would like to keep my house so I would still be able to adopt soon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
How can I start a small Log Home Building Business? I live in Michigan and I was wondering what I would have to do in order to legally start my own family owned and ran Log Home building and designing business. I have taken High school Architecture classes, and I plan on continuing my education in it while the business grows. Also my family and I are exceptionally skilled in building and designing, so no concern there. We just have no idea where to start.
i need help! I need a business partner for a year old growing funeral home.? Our business is growing but we need capital by the end of this year. We built the business from the ground up, but we had no reputation in town. It takes time to get to the top of peoples minds. This is my calling, and our families are so happy that they came here. We just have to get more people to know we are here, and we are too strapped to advertise much.
Fathers then & now.......? Today is one of the first Father's Days of our new millennium. Fathers of 1900 didn't have it nearly as good as fathers of today; but they did have a few advantages: In 1900, fathers prayed their children would learn English. Today, fathers pray their children will speak English. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father's horsepower meant his horses. Today, it's the size of his minivan. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, if a father put a roof over his family's head, he was a success. Today, it takes a roof, deck, pool, and 4-car garage. And that's just the vacation home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons. Today, kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they were sliding naked down an icicle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family business. Today, fathers pray their kids will soon come home from college long enough to teach them how to work the computer and set the VCR. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy, or Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country Hank Williams. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father smoked a pipe. If he tries that today, he gets sent outside after a lecture on lip cancer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and whispered, "Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids shake their fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting: "Wake up, it's time for hockey practice." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father came home from work to find his wife and children at the supper table. Today, a father comes home to a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at gymnastics, I'm at adult-Ed, Pizza in fridge." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout, "WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE.." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas, and the kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800 at Toys 'R' Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, if a father had breakfast in bed, it was eggs and bacon and ham and potatoes. Today, it's Special K, soy milk, dry toast and a lecture on cholesterol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a Father's Day gift would be a hand tool. Today, he'll get a digital organizer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers said, "A man's home is his castle." Today, they say, "Welcome to the money pit." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, "a good day at the market" meant Father brought home feed for the horses. Today, "a good day at the market" means Dad got in early on an IPO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a happy meal was when Father shared funny stories around the table. Today, a happy meal is what Dad buys at McDonald's. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, a father was involved if he spanked the kid now and then. Today, a father's involved only if he coaches Little League and organizes Boy Scouts and car pools. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, when fathers entered the room, children often rose to attention. Today, kids glance up and grunt, "Dad, you're invading my space." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers threatened their daughters suiters with shotguns if the girl came home late. Today, fathers break the ice by saying, "So...how long have you had that earring?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers pined for the old school, which meant a one-room, red-brick building. Today, fathers pine for the old school, which means Dr J and Mickey Mantle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1900, fathers were never truly appreciated. In 2001, fathers are never truly appreciated. OMG 'TLJN19' this is jokes sectin and you are making us cry.
Have any of you cut off contact with parents? Sometimes it is nice to know that I am not the only one! Although my in-laws hurt us desperately, it is still hard to do. (family business, were told we were working for minimum wage and stock, until the transfer date came and found that no stock had ever been transferred. Wasted 10 yrs of life working 100 hrs a week, and then hired lawyers and paid double its worth just to save reputation, it was a family named business in small town, my husband had put his heart and soul into building it. Just found out his parents bought a million dollar home, and we are still living with relatives. We will be financially fine again soon, just took a big hit to buy our freedom. It hurts bc it was parents who are supposed to love us.

In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera. In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons. Today, kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they were sliding naked down an icicle. In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family business. Today, fathers pray their kids will soon come home from college long enough to teach them how to work the computer and set the VCR. In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy, or Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country Hank Williams. In 1900, a father smoked a pipe. If he tries that today, he gets sent outside after a lecture on lip cancer. In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and whispered, "Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids shake their fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting: "Wake up, it's time for hockey practice." In 1900, a father came home from work to find his wife and children at the supper table. Today, a father comes home to a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at gymnastics, I'm at adult-Ed, Pizza in fridge." In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout, "WHEN YOU HAVE A MINUTE." In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas, and the kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800 at Toys 'R' Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!" In 1900, if a father had breakfast in bed, it was eggs and bacon and ham and potatoes. Today, it's Special K, soy milk, dry toast and a lecture on cholesterol. In 1900, a Father's Day gift would be a hand tool. Today, he'll get a digital organizer. In 1900, fathers said, "A man's home is his castle." Today, they say, "Welcome to the money pit." In 1900, "a good day at the market" meant Father brought home feed for the horses. Today, "a good day at the market" means Dad got in early on an IPO. In 1900, a happy meal was when Father shared funny stories around the table. Today, a happy meal is what Dad buys at McDonald's. In 1900, a father was involved if he spanked the kid now and then. Today, a father's involved only if he coaches Little League and organizes Boy Scouts and car pools. In 1900, when fathers entered the room, children often rose to attention. Today, kids glance up and grunt, "Dad, you're invading my space." In 1900, fathers threatened their daughters suitors with shotguns if the girl came home late. Today, fathers break the ice by saying, "So...how long have you had that earring?" In 1900, fathers pined for the old school, which meant a one-room, red-brick building. Today, fathers pine for the old school, which means Dr J and Mickey Mantle. In 1900, fathers were never truly appreciated. Today, fathers are never truly appreciated.
Interracial Marriage Fight? Inter Racial Marriage & Relationship My name is Maria, I am working in dubai as one of the Financial Advisor in biggest telecom company in Dubai. I got involved with an Indian -Hindu guy also working in Dubai as Sales Manager. We had fallen inlove and our relationship genuinely turned into more serious relationship as we can imagine. We decided to live together, as part of knowing and understanding each other culture and values, he told me that at the age of 10 yrs old, he was pledged or engaged to one female hindu indians in their community that they are waiting for the right age to full fill the traditional marriage. Since we both love each other too much, we took the risk of living together and our relationship had gone to another level. My boyfriend has high respect to his father ,family and with his cultures. He was tormented with the idea that he needs to marry the girl that he doesnt love, while I whom he loves so much will be suffering. Back home his parents are arranging a big ceremony this october for his wedding. I come to know that the lady was visiting his parents house every week to check with his parents. I happened to answer all that woman call in his phone, and it hurts me to know that she is the "so called arranged fiancee for him"., I wanted to fight for our relationship, he is so confused what to do. One day i called that woman and told her that I am not calling her to fight with her but only to informed her the situation of my boyfriend in dubai, that he is having a wonderful life with me here. that incident spread to the community and his father told him to go back to India and run the family business. I was feeling guilty for what Ive done, he is crying with me telling that he loves me and his career in dubai. He had built his own career from scratch up the level that money is no longer problem for him. I am explaining to him that sooner or later his family will comes to know about us and its time for him to decide. It will be unfair for everybody to live like this. He tried to explain to me that he very scared with his father that even his father will tell him to jump and killhimself he will do it. I dont know what to do to enlighten him about this situation, why he needs to chose between me and his parents where we can be all together as one big family. I do not understand why parents in india are doing this to this children, his parents were got married at the age of 15, he was pledge and engaged at the age of 10, and he will be hopefull not to his children at the age of 12?,, i really dont wanted to lose this guy and our 2 years relationship. the so called"fiancee" doesnt understand the situaion, why can she accept the fact that shes marrying a man who doesnt love her at all? and thinking that her husband to be is involved with other woman whom he trully love, why cant she made up her mind to back out with this arranged marriage?, why cant she explained to this guy parents that they need to accept their son choice and decision. how can I get out of this problem? shall I continue fighting for our love? my boyfriend needs an advice from other people . I dont know where to turn to? shall i summon the advice of their hindu priest in dubai to speak with him? or shall i summon the advice of one of his friend? or someone that we know that not indian nor not filipino...its hurting me so much that my boyfriend will just simply gave up his career and life for the sake of the old traditional community practices. --Maria Adlus, United Arab Emirates
Would you want to read this? ? I'm in the process of writing a story, and I wanted to get some feedback on it! =) It wouldn't be enough to just give you all the first page, so here's a summary (even though it's kinda long to call a summary, haha. Oh, and the events are much more spread out and detailed in the actual story) I know it looks long, but please read it all! The story starts off with Anna Clark (full name Annalise; main character; story told from her point of view) on a bus back to her old town, a small community of farms, a farm supply shop, a grocery; the kind of place where everyone knows everybody. She's staying with her grandparents, grumpy old Lydia and clueless but warmhearted Gramps. Previously living in the city a year ago, she is forced to move back after her parents were murdered by a man with a gun. (don't back out yet, the story isn't all depressing!) Upon arriving in the town, she takes a short tour to see if anything has changed. Amazingly, someone has built a large mansion in the tiny farm community, but Anna overlooks it, assuming that it's just an old, rich man with nothing better to do. At the end of her "tour", Anna drops by her dad's friend's farm supply shop (friend's name = Tom Silverton). There she learns from Tom's son Nick that the mansion is actually the home of the Othello family, and that there will be a party there the next day. (note: Nick was Anna's boyfriend before she moved, and the two promised to get back together and attend the same college after completing high school. When Anna and Nick reunite, she tells Nick that such promises are "childish" and "unnecessary". Their relationship problems will tie in later) Anyway, the next night Nick takes Anna to the mansion party and she slips away to explore the huge house. She finds herself in the mansion's massive library where she discovers the Othello's son and heir to the family business, Asher Rei Othello. As Anna befriends the reclusive Asher, she learns that his parents are actually divorced and he is living with his mother and step father. As they become even closer, Anna reveals to Asher that her parents were murdered and the name of the man who did it. The problem? The murder is Asher's real father, Samuel Ridge (sentenced to death)(Asher's mother and step dad changed his last name to Othello to avoid him having the last name of a murderer). Because of this, Asher keeps to himself and avoids opening up to anyone but Anna. But Houston, we have another problem... unbeknownst to anyone but himself, Ridge was framed. He's the only person who knows the real killer, but no one is allowed to visit him in prison. Can Anna, Asher, and Nick figure out the identity of the real culprit, before Ridge's time is up? Anna (sixteen)convinces Asher(seventeen) and Nick(sixteen) to team up with her to look into the case, but with both boys after Anna, teamwork is the last thing they're looking for. So that's the summary! I tried to make it clear and not too packed with unneeded details, but the plot is kind of complicated... -What can I improve on? -Is this something you would read? -Please keep in mind that I'm typing this summary up at 2am, haha =) -This is my first story that I'm really serious about writing, please try not to smash my hopes if it's not the best thing you've ever heard of. -If you have questions about the plot that would help you critique it better, please ask and I'll update this question to answer it for you! Thank you!

should i quit my job and move back home? My brother needs me to move home within the next month, to look after his house(rent free), i was supposed to in July , beacause in july i would have been in my current job a year, I am a jewelry repair technician at a prominent jewelry company in texas, this is a good job, i can do the work, and it is the work i went to technical school to do. I had hoped to stay at this job for at least a year but , for my career goals now it dosent matter how long i stayed at this job since, i want to start my own business. The longer i am here the more i realize that i NEED to work on building a solid business plan and starting my own line of jewelry. The whole reason i went to technical school was to learn how to make and design jewelry for my own company one day. This move would create the free time i need to work on my business, and to help out my family. Please give me serious answers :) thanks
I need ideas on how to start up my home business? Hi there, I am a newlywed (stay at home wife) looking to make some Christmas money. While I prefer to work from home, I realized (today) that I am really good at writing resumes and cover letters... I do it all the time for family and friends.... All of them get hired when they use my resumes...... I have over 15 years experience working as an Executive Assistant - and I was thinking about how I could get a small start by advertising my services on Craigs'List (out here in Tucson, AZ.) One problem though.... HOW do I arrange to actually "get paid" and still assure my customers that I am not a con or anything? I have a PayPal account and I wouldn't mind letting them preview work in progress - but also don't want people to steal my work. I plan to start by only charging $20 per resume - till I build up a reputation and save more money. ANY IDEAS???? Much Appreciated....... www.MySpace.com/MusiciansRock - Mrs. Meg Torrie -
Employees & Drugs?? My Husband, his father & myself run a family business, we have 15 employees all together. My husband came to the shop earlier tonight to find our night dispatcher getting high behind the building, Seeing as I am in charge of the dispatchers, I was told to come in & take care of it, So I sent him home for the night, and told him to come see me in the morning. What are the basic procedures for something like this? Should I fire him or just write him up on warning, seeing as it is his first incident? He was on the clock, and even claims to not have actually done it, but admits that he was going to.
How to live an isolated and lonely life? For many reasons I chose and I 'm forced to live an isolated and lonely life. I have no family, and basically no friends except some friendly coworkers. I'm also moving to a different area, building myself a dream-house, and will work from home on my business which I love. Everything is really great in my like exept I'm totally lonely. Not that I really perceive it to be a bad situation, but I have some doubts for the long run. For many years I have been struggling with the sense of isolation, but now I totally accepted it and I'm founding out that there are advantages on being lonely (lots of time, create your own pojects, do lots for others and so on). Does anybody have my same experience or living the same lifestyle? And what does it take to be happy in that situation? What do you do when it gets really bad during holidays? I do have a dog, so dont just say "get a pet" lol. Thanx I appreciate any contribution this is a big step for me.
If she makes more money, would that offend or bother you? Not long ago my wife started making more money than me. There, I said it. Don't think it was easy. The male ego is strangely fragile when it comes to who brings home the bacon. So, I've found, is the female notion of who rules the roost at home. In adjusting to our shifting roles, my wife and I have had to confront a lot of financial and emotional issues neither one of us saw coming. Who knew a little extra income could be such a burden? Our family is hardly alone in grappling with that question. In a quarter of households where the wife brings home a paycheck, it's the big one. That's up from 16 percent of households 25 years ago. And this trend is especially likely to build among us baby boomers: More and more women in midlife - kids grown - are dusting off their diplomas and making up for lost career time, while increasing numbers of us forty- and fifty-something guys are getting hit with the effects of steady downsizing throughout the economy. More from Money on CNNMoney.com: • Home Buying: Buy Now or Wait? • Ten Don't Miss Tax Breaks • Iran: Unstable, Troubled Oil Giant Certainly, there are plenty of benefits to having a high-earning woman in the family. In fact, when my wife's career as a marketing executive took off, I was thrilled - mostly because it was what she wanted but also because her earnings afforded us a better lifestyle and allowed me to pursue a riskier job track. (I left my full-time gig as a senior writer at Time magazine to do other kinds of writing.) But the potential for psychological fallout is real. Money is a cold arbiter of power, and when a wife starts making more, both spouses may feel that the husband has somehow been demoted. Sure, we boomers are supposed to be past all that. But reality doesn't always live up to our PC notions. Once my wife's bigger paychecks started rolling in, her routine household reminders started sounding like orders to me. My wife sensed resistance, which struck her as sudden and senseless. She was hurt. Meanwhile, her success at work brought lots of travel and late nights. She felt she needed to manage the house while away. But I had things under control and felt her calls to quiz me on the kids' whereabouts smacked of mistrust. So it was my turn to be hurt. We joke now about giving orders and passing pop quizzes. But things might not be so funny if we hadn't talked honestly about the surprising stress that came with her greater earning power. The following strategies helped us work through the strain. If you're dealing with a financial role reversal, they may help you too. Talk, talk, talk Communicating how you feel about the changes brought on by the shift in earning power is critical. My wife and I take several long walks together every week, giving us a valuable block of talk time free from distraction. The walks began purely as exercise. But over the years we've conducted a lot of family business during this time. We've planned parties and bought houses. Lately we've worked through the logistics and emotions of her soaring career. If you don't talk about your feelings, they're more likely to manifest in depression, withdrawal, aggression or blame. Listen to your words for a clue. Husbands, do you devalue her accomplishments? ("You make a lot of money, but you're never home.") Do you undercut her family connections? ("I had to decide; you don't have time.") Wives, do you undermine his provider instincts? ("I'll buy it with my money.") Or devalue his work? ("Maybe you should get another job.") One way to move the conversation to higher ground is to focus on values that transcend income: trust, teamwork, achievement, personal growth. Talk about the shared goals you may be able to pursue because of the additional money now coming into the household (pay some big bills? renovate the kitchen? take a trip to Hawaii?). Discuss the projects he can tackle if the income role reversal has resulted in his having more free time. He may not make as much, but there are other routes to mutual respect. Be true partners Hint to husbands: A little more help around the house goes a long way to easing tensions. Bonus points for anticipating what's needed without being told. And both of you need to watch each other's back when outsiders make comments that press your role-reversal stress buttons. That's when a code word or phrase comes in handy, says Stephen Goldbart, co-director of the Money, Meaning & Choices Institute in Kentfield, Calif. Something like "We should check on the kids" signals your spouse to change the subject or subtly come to your defense. One of my wife's hot buttons is when friends talk about business travel as though it creates emotional distance from the family. I don't need a cue to chime in with how enriching and fun it is for our kids, who travel with her when possible. Practice discretion I'd bet most women don't care to call attention to their status as the family's No. 1 breadwinner, but they do want their husband to appreciate the sacrifices they've made to achieve their success. Plenty of men are comfortable with earning less than their wife - as long as that fact isn't broadcast publicly. "I've interviewed high-earning women whose husbands say they are fine with it," says Olivia Mellan, a psychotherapist who specializes in money and relationship issues. "But then they ask me to please, please not mention it in my book where everyone will see it." Do not lie about who makes most. Just don't volunteer the details or talk about them at length publicly if it makes him uncomfortable. And if she's struggling to find the time for family connections, keep that between the two of you as well. Set up personal accounts My wife and I have merged assets since the day we were married. Now for the first time we're talking (on our walks) about peeling off small spending accounts for each of us. What I buy with the cash in my private account will be my business and vice versa - she won't get to ask questions or pass judgment and I won't either. Why now, after 21 years of marriage? It gets back to the subtle shifts in relationship power that often happen when a spouse who used to make less becomes the bigger earner. Suddenly she may make purchases or other financial decisions without consulting her husband. The subtext: "Hey, this is my money. I earned it, and I don't have to ask for permission." He feels, "It's our money when I earn it, so it's our money when you do too, and I get a say in how it's spent." Having small separate accounts honors both feelings, allowing each of you some space to spend as you please while you still make bigger financial decisions jointly. Gloria Steinem once said that she had yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine a marriage and a career. As this balancing act grows more delicate, I have a feeling that's about to change.
Where can I source an investor/lender that will loan money against turnover rather than equity.$500,000 sort? I run a small business in the transport industry turning over approx $50k per mnth. Have built my business up from 1 x 10 year old truck to currently 2 x brand new trucks with trailers since Nov 2004. Have secured a 5 year agreement for work for both new trucks with an internationally owned company and am looking to consolidate business debt accrued in my short but fruitful progress thus far. Have not got a property in Sydney and am willing to buy a home rather than rent for my young family so as to gain equity for myself rather than not having any leverage for finance as in my current situation
My ex and I have been seperated for 10 months, we have 2 children, 3.5 and 14 months..? I was running my own business, building our dream home and I gave her all the time she needed to start her own business even helped her with marketing, business planning, etc. Not only this, for the previous 3 years I was providing her a new car, phone, computer, paying all expenses (including 3 holidays) and giving her money to spend on clothes, jewellery every month. It seemed the more I gave the more she wanted. We serarated because I was sick of her promising she would change and then asking for more. Recently she seems to have realised how much I was doing for our family and has turned up at my new home a few times in tears, saying how sorry she was. I have the kids 3 days a week and pay maintenace on time every week and just want to get on with my life and help my boys grow into strong men. I want more kids and want to find someone else that does too but am worried that someone will take advantage again. Is this natural and what do I do to make sure it does not happen again?
Hello, anyone out there who could give me advice on selling home security systems? I work for an authorized ADT dealership as a sales representative. I do this as it is flexible and I have lupus and a son with autism and had to leave my career in corporate sales. Does anyone have any ideas for me to help build my business and get customers interested? What type of marketing might help me. I can only sell in my local area which is about a 45 minute radius of Memphis. I offer a good product, I have the best price for ADT equipment and offer their monitoring. I am also very customer service oriented and bend over backwards to help my customer even after the sale. I just need ideas to increase my business. Door to door knocking has not been successful. I am currently working with flyers also but have not had much results with that. Also, I have even been telemarketing. I am more than willing to accept suggestions from anyone. I really want to make a decent living for my family and my son as its expensive having an autistic child and my own medical bills. I Oro, I know you are kidding but there are actually some shady security dealers that have done things like that to cause scare tactics in communities. Its sad but true.
custom computer buisness?
Is it possible to be a homeowner without being a millionaire? My husband and I have 9-5 jobs. I have a college degree and work in the healthcare business; my husband works at a construction company. We have a growing family and would love to own a home. It seems nowadays, at least where we live, that homes are being built just so the rich man can purchase it and make an investment by renting it out at such a high price. Is it like this everywhere? It doesn't seem fair. What is the first step to owning a home? I'm tired of renting.
Opinions on sample of book? The weather outside was colder than Damien thought. Pulling tighter his coat, he still shivered, from the winds blowing through the “wind tunnels” created by the high-rise buildings scattering throughout Manhattan. ‘Where is the driver’ Damien thought to himself. A man in a suit seemingly induced in his conversation with his blackberry, unknowingly bumped into Damien. About to turn around and try to start something, Damien decided not to when he saw the limo pull to the curb beside him. Nicolas Johnson had been the family driver since Damien was born. “Where to,” Nick asked. “Hell” replied Damien, slouching down in the chair. Not caring to put on his seatbelt. “Wimblen Academy it is then” Nick chuckled, and hit the gas peddle. Living in New York City his entire life Damien still was awe-struck by the touring skyscrapers in Midtown Manhattan, and the Financial District. The limo passed by the family’s building. The massive “RISQUETTE STOCK EXCHANGE” sign signified the power accompanied to the family name. Wimblen Academy was in Brooklyn right next to the east river. The large, golden flags printed with the schools name symbolized for some, the attendance of entire generations in the schools 150 years of existence. To Damien it meant pure torture. It wasn’t that Damien was bullied in school, or that he felt disconnected from the schools faculty and students. It was instead the opposite way. Damien bullied, and smeared the very core of some of the younger classes, with his cruel remarks and authority like person to which he can thank his mother for instilling in him. Then there was his amazing bargaining qualities which without a doubt must come from his fathers side. The limo pulled to a halt alongside the curb in front of the school’s open doors. Sighing again, Damien opened the door and stepped out. “I’ll be here after-” Damien shut the door before Nick finished what he was saying. His anger, and hostile attitude kept him warm from the very cold wind blowing from the icy river. It was 12PM, he only had 3 more classes before the day would be done. Or he could just leave the school, and take the public bus home. By the time he got back into the city, school would already be out. Caught up in his scheming to escape, he didn’t notice Mr. Grant, the Vice Principle walking toward him. “Well well,” Mr. Grant said, “Look who has decided to make an appearance.” Damien, sullen now that he definitely wouldn’t be able to leave, turned to Mr. Grant. “Yup,” he replied. One word phrases had become Damien’s way of communicating with the V.P. The two of them had developed an odd relationship, per say. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel J. Grant and John Risquette, Damien’s father were past business partners, Mr. Grant actually helped launch the Risquette’s influence overseas. But as Mr. Risquette put it “business ideas clashed, and the Risquettes like always, came out triumphant.” Mr. Grant however, put things in more descriptive terms, “Mr. Risquette, upon reaching the top, forgot about those whom helped get him there. In my belief, one day he will topple down, with no one to pick him up.” Now the tension between the two adults, occasionally dish out the brunt results to Damien. Whenever he is punished by Mr. Grant for bad behavior, Mr. Risquette demands that Damien not carry out the detention, or whatever punishment he is given. Then so continues the childish feuds between a highly regarded school vice principle, and a world renowned business tycoon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Yup, is that all you’ve got to say” Mr. Grant asked. Closely watching Damien as if he was prey, that turned out to be a predator. “That’s what I said” Damien muttered, while giving the classic rolling of eyes. Chuckling, Mr. Grant told Damien to get to class, or get a detention. Damien, not wanting to hear another “stand up for your rights, if not for your family” speech from his dad, chose class. 4th period for him was English. His teacher, Ms. Jacar. Damien used to be one of Ms. Jacar’s top students, then he just quit. His teachers always used to applaud his positive behavior, and used to insist that when he fully applies himself, he can “move mountains” as his 9th History teacher put it. Walking into his English class, the students looked up from their composition books. They did this when anyone walked in, but upon seeing Damien someone in the back of the room said “oh my god he’s here.” Ms. Jacar, who had been so immersed in her romance novel, looked up and withheld a gasp when she saw Damien. “So nice of you to join,” she said, “your seat is still open.” Without word, or even acknowledgment or Ms. Jacar or anyone for that matter Damien walked to his seat by the window in the back corner of the room. He put his head down, and took a nap until the bell rang. He spent the last 2 classes doing the same thing. Hearing the clock hit 3PM, and the bell signaling the end of school lifted up Damien’s mood a bit. Walking through the halls to the front door of the school, Damien gave notice to no one. Exiting the school, he looked around for Nick. No limo, no Nick.
Now that 10% in real terms control 90% of worlds wealth up from 20/80: What about middle class? Isn't it dellusional? Seriously, it can not be a good use of national wealth to empower the extreme wealth as institutionalised, isnt it Nazi ideology even though its done by the Australian Labor Party? Talk of nation building working families is a justification for marginalising excluding families formerly able to better care for kids by having the mom at home and forced her onto the work force where it may have been her choice to be a kept lady? Surely, and forgive me as a bloke but my ex did not want to work, the individual family has a basic right to existance without being marginalised as intelligenica where the business and the profession have an affordability not necessarily in an affluent suburb to not be marginalised by the mothers right to lump sum bonus being taken away from her just because her husband works, and so too on the other foot because nowadays sisters are doing it too and kept men have an equal right to not work too, without a child born being victimised?
Help with naming restaurant/bar in college town? My brother and I just purchased a restaurant/bar in a very busy area near a college. We are going to go with a retro theme. Our building is a 2 story with exposed brick in the inside and outside, big window in the front. Our menu will be classic american. Our menu will have gourmet burgers, grilled chicken sandwichs, wings, fish and chips. Classic pub food with some higher end entrees, cilantro lime shrimp, grilled ribeyes. Lots of cold domestic, import and micro brews. My brother and I are big guys that like to get out and talk to people, we care about our product and always looking to make it better. We started as a catering business, actually the catering business started as a tailgating business. Our business is in the heart of a business downtown area that is home to a small college. We want our business to family friendly, a place were you can bring the kids but also a spot to come have a burger, drink a few beers and watch the game. Develop a local hangout. Names?
