What renovations should I make to my home before I sell it? I'm about to list my house. I want to make some renovations so I can get the best sale price. What are buyers looking for? I'm pretty sure I want to put in new cabinets and tile in the kitchen.

Lead paint dust: My kids are 11 and 13. Doing renovations. How many days can they sleep here with lead dust? We haven't tested the lead level in the dust yet. Just worrying. Should we bill our downstairs neighbours for work resulting from thier renovations? We live in a converted terrace house built around 1900. The people downstairs had work done to enlarge their basement and improve their property. The work went on for weeks and after it was done we notice that many of our doors and windows were jamming as the work has caused the structure of the building to shift. They got their builder in to fix it up, but there's been further movement and the doors are all jamming again. Can we bill them to get them properly fixed?

Where to begin with home renovations....? My husband and I just purchased our first home, and it needs some work, mostly small, but a couple of big things too... We need to replace the roof, as most of the trusses were built with 2x2's and could use to be beefed up.
