General costs of home extensions? We need extensions on our home, but the layout of our house is really tricky with a lot of space that goes to waste. It's an old house with solid double brick in some parts and a traditional peaked roof. We know it is expensive to put on another level and for the area we are in it is not worth the money, so we are trying to mimimise what we do for maximum benefit. So is it more expensive to knock down a wall than to build a new one (especially if it is solid double brick)? What about the costs of raising the level of the floor and roofline in one part (we are on a slope)? I live in Sydney by the way.

Home Hair Extensions? My freind always wears hair extensions which she does herself at home, i have never been interested in them but she persuaded me to have a go, so she put them in my hair, i hated them and i painstakingly took them out the next day with cotton wool and acetone nail polish remover (she said thats what u do)... the hair extensions did come out but i have been left with all the glue in tracks on my hair near my scalp, she told me to sit and soak it again and comb out with a nit comb... is this right or has anyone got a better idea... its getting me down feeling all this in my hair, thank god no one can see it!!!

Home extension building regulations - building close to/over public sewer. What is classed as a public sewer? I'm trying to sort out this application form that arrived the other day about building close to or over a public sewer. The guidance notes say that you only need get approval if you are building within three metres of a public sewer. My L shaped extension will cover over part of the drain running from the soil stack out towards the outlet on my neighbours property, the entire run from the back of my house to the middle of the manhole cover is some 6 .7 metres and the rear part of my extension is only going to be 2.8 metres wide which, if this is not classed as a public sewer, will mean I don't need permission. Basically what I want to know is which part of the drains is classed as a public sewer? Thanks intelly gent, I know what you are saying and I was not going to. I have an appointment with a severn trent rep next Thursday and am just hoping to get a bit of background info from anyone who has been there!! With regard to your version of the public sewer, our drains run at the back of the house to the end of the terrace with each house feeding into it, mine is the first of the run and as such I have no one else's waste running through my property (hence the confusion)

Down spout extensions wer not on at this time, could be the reason for these stains, as well as the backfill to the home was not complete at the time the stains occured(per the listing agent) What should we do, please advice. Is this a deal breaker ? should we get another specialized inspection. Home inspector said this is a fairly common problem and downspout extensions should be added. I'm to tall to use my leg extension on my home gym, What can I do about it? I just bought a a Marcy Platinum home gym and I can't use the leg extension becuase I'm to tall. I'm aware that I'm supposed to align my ankels with the padded rolls but when I sit down and put my legs to the pads it comes up to me shins(I'm only 6'1) making it hard to use and very eneffective.
